1.5/5
Mercy (2026) Dana Han-Klein Have compassion for yourself and skip this perspective-less gimmick of police / AI propaganda. The "realtime" aspect backfires: instead of creating suspense it reminds you how much of your life you're wasting AND how much of this dreck is remaining.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026) Dana Han-Klein Ralph Fiennes is mesmerizing. DaCosta demonstrates a masterful understanding that the actual scariest thing you could ever be faced with is the dark side of human nature.

3.7/5
People We Meet on Vacation (2026) Dana Han-Klein A by the book (literally) romance that tries to briefly whisk you away from the woes of the real world. While the drama in it can feel a little over produced and inconsistent (apparently the book parcels it out more evenly) it's a low lift crowd pleaser.

4.4/5
The Plague (2025) Dana Han-Klein A horrifying case study in the terror of toxic teens and the viciousness with which people are willing to treat each other. It'll have you thanking your lucky stars that eventually puberty ends (though some people never grow out of their ruthless phases).

4.7/5
Left-Handed Girl (2025) Dana Han-Klein A love letter to Taiwan featuring a performance from Ye that would win over even the coldest of hearts. The specificity of the film works wonderfully in concert with the slow burn of the story - which at its peak its an inferno you can’t look away from

4.8/5
No Other Choice (2025) Dana Han-Klein A masterful (and cunningly comedic) slow boil into madness and obsession with some of the best performances of the year. One of Park Chan-wook's greatest works to date with stunning delivery from Lee Byung-hun.

3.7/5
The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants (2025) Dana Han-Klein A silly but ultimately breezy time at the movies. While it's packed to the brim with jokes about derrieres it also has a shocking amount of humor aimed at grown ups. The freneticism of the energy borders on overwhelming but remains manageable and earnest.

Avatar: Fire and Ash (2025) Dana Han-Klein Cameron's themes of environmentalism manifest in the form of recycling as the 3rd film is largely reused plot. Yet somehow it's still a visually entertaining spectacle. The Ash tribe inch the larger plot along & turn it into the horniest Avatar film yet.

4.7/5
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery (2025) Dana Han-Klein Benoit Blanc is better than ever. Johnson manages to continue to keep up the fun factor of the series while exploring his most complex themes yet. The pairing of the Joshes (Brolin and O'Connor) makes for some truly memorable encounters.

4.8/5
Hamnet (2025) Dana Han-Klein Visceral and heartbreaking, from the acting to the score to the cinematography everything is emotional orchestration at its finest. Buckley in particular delivers a heart wrenching and soulful performance that will haunt you in the best way possible.

4.5/5
Eternity (2025) Dana Han-Klein One of the best takes on the afterlife since Defending Your Life. Freyne paints a charming, comedic, and heartfelt picture of the beyond and Olsen, Teller, and Turner find emotional equilibrium in their performances.

3.8/5
Zootopia 2 (2025) Dana Han-Klein This animated sequel takes a maximalist (or mammalist?) approach to filmmaking, while the over complicated plot might go a bit over younger audiences heads - there's plenty of elementary level jokes that will make it enjoyable for all.

4.5/5
Rental Family (2025) Dana Han-Klein A beautiful and meditative film on connection, family, and culture. Not once does it approach any of its characters with judgement. HIKARI's lovely script and directing helps continue the Brenaissance!

3.6/5
Wicked: For Good (2025) Dana Han-Klein The craftsmanship and performances manage to (barely) propel this into watchable territory, but plot wise the film can't overcome the way the second act of the source material melts down. Casual fans may regret spending a clock tick of their time on it.

3.8/5
In Your Dreams (2025) Dana Han-Klein You'll fall in love with Baloney Tony and the film is a pleasantly complex portrayal of the reality of family dynamics. It comes close to but never quite hits the emotional depth adults may have hoped for based on the themes, but kids will love it.

3.5/5
Now You See Me: Now You Don't (2025) Dana Han-Klein The Alliance of Magicians would not approve. This third entry overcranks on movie magic so much that it undermines any sort of ability so suspend disbelief. A clunky script and threadbare plot make us start to wish this franchise would disappear.

3.4/5
The Running Man (2025) Dana Han-Klein While Wright does a great job enhancing the dystopian (sadly seemingly still on track) future King foretold, unfortunately Powell's casting makes the whole thing fall apart as he fails to sell the depths of emotion this new version tries to pull off.

3.8/5
Frankenstein (2025) Dana Han-Klein GDT got to make the exact film he wanted to, but that doesn't mean it's the best possible version of the film he could've made (as constraints can make one have to get creative.) Its visually stunning but bloated with self-indulgence. Elordi does shine.

3.7/5
Predator: Badlands (2025) Dana Han-Klein Trachtenberg expands the lore of the universe but it lacks the originality of his first brilliant foray into the franchise: Prey. While there's some of the core of what one would expect for a Predator film, for better or for worse it humanizes the Yautja.

4.7/5
Bugonia (2025) Dana Han-Klein Brilliant and bonkers, this is one of those rare adaptations / remakes that manages to improve upon the original. With committed performances from Stone and Plemmons, you'll find yourself constantly shifting allegiances and questioning everything.

3.5/5
Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere (2025) Dana Han-Klein Sadly the film actually proves the thesis that "No one tells stories like Springsteen" as it manages to suck the energy out of the Boss's story. This doesn't end up feeling like a tale that needed to be told, and becomes too reliant on cliches.

3.8/5
Roofman (2025) Dana Han-Klein Tatum and Dunst give charningly earnest performances. While nothing groundbreaking, the story is well told and you'll find yourself rooting for the rulebreaker.

2.7/5
TRON: Ares (2025) Dana Han-Klein Unfortunately this is a cheap feeling spectacle that's devoid of logic, character development, or anything that resembles acting out of Leto. It doesn't meaningfully add to the lore and already feels dated. The one redeeming quality is the soundtrack.

3.7/5
The Smashing Machine (2025) Dana Han-Klein A solidly serviceable sports biopic. Johnson gives a more dialed in, softer, performance than his past broader roles. While care and craftsmanship is visible in the fighting scenes alas overall the script is bumpy and the storytelling somewhat disjointed.

4.7/5
One Battle After Another (2025) Dana Han-Klein Paul Thomas Anderson is in fighting form with this timely politically charged escapade. While there's many a place for more storytelling efficiency (the runtime borders on tedious) this is one of PTA's most accessible films to date.

3.9/5
Good Fortune (2025) Dana Han-Klein Keanu Reeves is perfect. While Ansari didn't necessarily need to star in his own directorial debut, the pairing of Rogen & Reeves makes it worth it. At times its a bit inside baseball, but still a solid comedy that Reeves elevates to a very worthy watch.

2/5
Swiped (2025) Dana Han-Klein We've seen too many better crafted founder biopics at this point and if there's anything exceptional about the subject aside from her gender the film fails to convey it. Though it does successfully capture a fraction of the horror of being a woman in tech

2.8/5
HIM (2025) Dana Han-Klein Strong performances can't save this film from spiraling out in the second half. Though it tries to initially explore some interesting themes it never coalesces. The haphazard writing combined with a lack of tonal commitment unfortunately make this a pass.

3.7/5
Spinal Tap II: The End Continues (2025) Dana Han-Klein While an utterly unnecessary sequel, superfans will find themselves rejoicing in the nostalgia of these characters. With the right (flower) people around you it's harmless and amusing enough trip down memory lane.

3.7/5
Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale (2025) Dana Han-Klein A more fitting sendoff than the previous film endeavor, but the Grantham / Crawleys / downstairs crew may have overstayed their welcome with this one. Superfans will find it comforting, however it suffers from several out of touch moments.

4.6/5
The Long Walk (2025) Dana Han-Klein A dystopian horror which feels more relevant than ever. Mollner's script + Lawrence's directing are buoyed by stellar performances - particularly from Hoffman and Jonsson. Undoubtedly a painful watch but all of the nightmares feel in service to the story.

3.5/5
The Roses (2025) Dana Han-Klein Likely to inspire acting students for some time to come - the cavalcade of talent prevent it from dipping into unwatchable territory. The various parts never cohesively come together into a whole, but watching Colman & Cumberbatch joust is still electric.

3.8/5
The Thursday Murder Club (2025) Dana Han-Klein While it's a valiant attempt to adapt the beloved book, it does end up lacking some of the charm (and likely would've been better as a series). If you aren't coming to it having read it its a perfectly fine mystery, but readers may find it too condensed.

1.6/5
Eden (2024) Dana Han-Klein A leaden script and unhinged directional choices regarding performance make this nigh unwatchable. The sensationalism of the source material fails to translate and the result is a tedious viewing experience we're itching to forget.

1.7/5
Honey Don't! (2025) Dana Han-Klein An unfulfilling film that feels like a bootleg copy of Cohen and Cooke's earlier and more successful work. Between a seemingly intentional directional choice of hollow performances and a sloppy plot, an actual bee sting would be preferable to watching it.

4.2/5
Ne Zha II (2025) Dana Han-Klein A sweeping epic that drops right into the heart of celestial level lore. The first one isn't required viewing to dip into this - though just know it may take a while to get your bearings. Chaotic and uneven at times, its still a journey worth going on.

1.9/5
Americana (2025) Dana Han-Klein A hodgepodge mess of a film that commits too hard to certain bits, demonstrating a questionable taste level. Halsey and McClarnon give elevated performances but it's not enough to save the film from its own writing pitfalls.

3.7/5
Nobody 2 (2025) Dana Han-Klein An action packed romp that is (somewhat mindless) summer fun that doesn't even ask you to do the lifting of remembering the details of the first film. Bob Odenkirk sells the physicality but it's not showcasing the best of his acting skills.

3.8/5
Sketch (2024) Dana Han-Klein A sweet, often comedic, and wholesome tale tackling shockingly deep emotions. With a clever premise and delightful visuals it proves a strong feature debut from Seth Worley.

3.9/5
Weapons (2025) Dana Han-Klein Cregger continues to terrorize your psyche with Weapons, though there are times where it feels like lore and motivations were left on the cutting room floor.

4.2/5
The Naked Gun (2025) Dana Han-Klein Brilliantly stupid (in the best way possible) with the highest bit rate of any film in a long time. Neeson and Anderson are perfectly cast and it's a great reminder you can make a comedy that is just jokes and that doesn't punch down.

4.1/5
The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025) Dana Han-Klein A vibrant love letter to comic books & the first MCU film in a while you won't need an encyclopedic knowledge of almost 20 years of films to enjoy. You'll love the First Family of Marvel, though the stakes feel potentially outsized for this first outing.
Posted Jul 23, 2025Edit critic review
1.8/5
Smurfs (2025) Dana Han-Klein A convoluted plot and shockingly lackluster voice performance from Rihanna makes us wonder who the Smurf is this supposed to be for? Young kids might be have a decent time but if you're an adult accompanying them unfortunately you should brace for boredom
Posted Jul 18, 2025Edit critic review
4.4/5
Superman (2025) Dana Han-Klein A good film elevated to great by its release timing. Superman can feel antiquated but living in our darkest timeline has re illuminated the need for hopeful heroes. Gunn brings his signature humor and tries to balance it (oft unevenly) with earnestness.

1.7/5
Heads of State (2025) Dana Han-Klein Unfortunately even two of the biggest stars can't save this mind numbing movie. The action is anemic at best, and though Cena and Elba are committed to their roles, the sorry excuse for a script is unsalvageable. Even as a background watch it was a chore.
Posted Jul 02, 2025Edit critic review
3.3/5
The Old Guard 2 (2025) Dana Han-Klein Though Theron and crew all return and the sequel adds impressive talent to the roster, it fails to capture the charm of the first. A refresher of the (superior) original is suggested before attempting this still relatively enjoyable action thriller.
Posted Jul 02, 2025Edit critic review
3.6/5
F1 The Movie (2025) Dana Han-Klein A formulaic (pun intended) racing film slightly elevated by director Kosinski's mastery of the action sequence. It's bit bogged down in the exposition of actual F1 rules. An enjoyable summer blockbuster that doesn't particularly seek to rise beyond that.
Posted Jul 02, 2025Edit critic review
2.7/5
Jurassic World Rebirth (2025) Dana Han-Klein It's time to let these reboots go extinct. The latest entry fails to capture any of the wonder or suspense that are hallmarks of the franchise. The actors attempt their best but the script (which is barely more than an outline) hampers the entire ordeal.
Posted Jul 02, 2025Edit critic review
2.9/5
28 Years Later (2025) Dana Han-Klein Lacking in (emotional) bite and light on the logic, this uneven entry into the franchise feels disjointed and unfulfilling.

3.1/5
M3GAN 2.0 (2025) Dana Han-Klein Stripped of the horror elements of the first one, the sequel gets a little bogged down in attempting to recreate the organic camp of the original. If you adjust your expectations and treat it as merely an action film it ends up being a fine watch.
