People We Meet on Vacation (2026) Josie Meléndez What happens when a destination isn’t a place, but a person? People We Meet on Vacation poses this question to very charming results.

The Life of Chuck (2024) Josie Meléndez While it can feel like wading through muddy water as the plot unfolds like a ripened orange whose peel is being slowly swirled off with a sharp knife, there’s a perception of enchantment within the unadulterated sadness.

Materialists (2025) Josie Meléndez They say write what you know, and Song has a distinguishable talent for this. She takes parts of her life and embeds them into her work in a way that feels genuine and natural.

Disney's Snow White (2025) Josie Meléndez There’s a clear message of a community’s power to overthrow tyranny with the strength of the many against the few. This comes from a studio often blinded by dollar signs, despite them featuring the same message in Wish (2023), ineffectively.

Mickey 17 (2025) Josie Meléndez While caricaturistic, Mickey 17 works best in its emboldened mission of poking fun at the absurd nature of today’s political leaders. Caught in the crossfire of parody and drama, there’s a little bit for every viewer in Bong Joon-ho’s latest.

Gladiator II (2024) Josie Meléndez Gladiator II whisks its audience away to the past while reflecting on the present and future. Could it have improved what we’ve witnessed before beyond simply tweaking parts here and there? Yes. But it’s one hell of an entertaining show.

Wicked (2024) Josie Meléndez In essence, the film has the influential momentum of Avengers: Infinity War… but for musical theater nerds. Instantly, it transports the viewer to a world of possibilities mixed with new and familiar sights.

Dune: Part Two (2024) Josie Meléndez In all likelihood, Dune: Part Two will be revered in film history for years to come – it manages to be unlike anything we’ve seen before, yet comfortably familiar at the same time.

TAYLOR SWIFT | THE ERAS TOUR (2023) Josie Meléndez All in all, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour is a cinematic milestone. While it is a money-guzzling machine, there is a genuine joy to everything this tour stands for.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (2023) Josie Meléndez 'The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes' makes it through as becoming one of the more memorable films of 2023. Despite its languish pace and a hard-to-sell romance, it’s action-packed and worthy of recognition.

Poor Things (2023) Josie Meléndez Poor Things explicitly explores female sexual liberation. However, it’s less like a manifesto and more like an elevated sex comedy.

Without Prescription (2022) Josie Meléndez This newest addition to Puerto Rico’s filmography dares to paint a story that is so human it’s both intimate in nature and explosive in its commentary.

The Fishbowl (2023) Josie Meléndez It quickly becomes a story about the survivors that refuse to be defined by their trauma. It’s also a beacon of hope and a promise that the future of Puerto Rican cinema is bright.

X (2022) Josie Meléndez The film itself goes beyond being merely a ‘blood and guts killer time’ with an array of porn star characters. It feeds into your adrenaline and spikes it up to ten.

Luck (2022) Josie Meléndez There is some good in Skydance Animation’s feature, but Luck‘s biggest problem is its lack of passion.

The Whale (2022) Josie Meléndez The Whale is a vivid portrait of our inability to escape our own sadness when it becomes all-consuming and of those who are willing to hold our hands through it all.

Bantú Mama (2021) Josie Meléndez This is a tender, captivating film that dares to highlight the complexities of the Caribbean and serves as a reminder of why we should uplift more stories from the islands whose heavy-treaded waters hold treasures and truths.

Bones and All (2022) Josie Meléndez Bones & All is a tragic tale encompassing our desire to feel wanted, desired, even needed. It’s an exploration of the human body, its sanctity, and its degradation.

Blonde (2022) Josie Meléndez Blonde is further proof that women’s pain is mere spectacle in the eyes of society. The care the crew swears they made this film with is glaringly absent.

The Fabelmans (2022) Ileana Meléndez Spielberg’s attempt at creating an instant Old-Hollywood classic is artificial at best... The Fabelmans feels like a constipated attempt at a magnum opus.

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story (2022) Ileana Meléndez The film’s comedic range, from sharp-tongued dialogue to classic physical slapstick, is pure pleasure and gives Radcliffe all the opportunity for laughs any ensemble could ever want.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022) Ileana Meléndez With Glass Onion, Johnson takes us on a brand-new adventure, one bathed in the same magical style of the first film and with a notable through-line in its satirical commentary on the rich and powerful.

Father of the Bride (2022) Josie Meléndez 'Father of the Bride' ultimately treats the characters as people that just so happen to have Latine roots. It’s a celebration of the variety within Latin America, avoiding the tendency to turn Latine culture into a one-size-fits-all monolith.

Crimes of the Future (2022) Josie Meléndez If there are walkouts, it’s because of Cronenberg’s name only. 'Crimes of the Future' has to be one of his tamer pieces. In the end, it’s even surprisingly tender, making it a perfect introduction for viewers like me, unfamiliar with his work.
