Escape to Witch Mountain (1975) Kristen Lopez It’s an effective and exciting chase movie with great performances from its child stars.

Trilogy of Terror (1975) Kristen Lopez Trilogy of Terror isn’t a classic on par with The Twilight Zone, but it’s a fun feature with a unique premise.

The Lady Eve (1941) Kristen Lopez A solid film with phenomenal performances that’ll leave you thinking amongst the slapstick. It’s certainly a film I’d recommend, but it’s far from one of my favorites like I’d anticipated.

Blonde (2001) Kristen Lopez Chopra’s movie isn’t interested in the gruesomeness of Marilyn’s death, or the sordid sex life we’ve come to identify with her. The portrayal of Marilyn is easily the best we’ve seen, for her perspective especially.

The Undead (1957) Kimberly Pierce Watching The Undead is a strange experience (it) feels oddly contemporary in places then youre suddenly reminded just how small of a budget this movie had... The Undead brings a sense of absurdity and contradiction that is a joy to watch.

The Beast Must Die (1974) Kimberly Pierce Ultimately, this one just didnt quite work for me. Enough is going right to keep it from being a good-bad movie, but at the same time, the problems with the construction keep it from being a truly good movie.

Shadow of the Cat (1961) Kimberly Pierce A film like The Shadow of the Cat depends on your perspective going in... I cant tell you if what I picked up from The Shadow of the Cat is what director John Gilling would have wanted, but I had an absolute blast watching this movie and you should too.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) Kimberly Pierce A dive into Invasion of the Body Snatchers shows how special this movie is... Whether it be though an examinations of the pods as a metaphor for communism, or... the downside of consumerism... this movie is a riveting example of timely 1950s cinema.

Nightmare (1956) Kimberly Pierce Nightmare is too similar to Fear in the Night to really stand apart. Had a new writer or new director tackled the story, there would be more room for growth... Nightmare loses the raw gut punch which made Fear in the Night so special.

Death of a Salesman (1951) Kimberly Pierce While the movie hasnt been remembered with the same fondness as some of its contemporaries, Death of a Salesman is a fascinating cultural snapshot... At the same time, the acting in this picture is something to behold.

The Doomsday Flight (1966) Kimberly Pierce While this isnt the most magnetic or enthralling of this very specific sub-genre, there are a number well-crafted performances mixed in with a traditionally smart Rod Serling script. If Serling is involved, you know it has to be good.

3.5/5
Michael Shayne, Private Detective (1941) Kimberly Pierce All in all, Michael Shayne: Private Detective is a fun and easy watch. However, while theres a definite sprinkle of the hard-boiled private eyes so popular in film noir, this movie is far more at home among the literary detective franchises of the 1930s.

4.5/5
Night and the City (1950) Kimberly Pierce Dassin and his cinematographer Max Greene easily guide the tone of Night and the City with an unseen hand. The visual power of these images casts a heaviness over the narrative which wouldnt be present without these very specific stylistic choices.

The Blue Gardenia (1953) Kimberly Pierce All in all, The Blue Gardenia ever-so-slightly misses out on its potential... Ultimately, an hour and a half only allows you so much time, and this is a frustrating realization in a world as rich as the one Lang crafts in The Blue Gardenia

Boys' Night Out (1962) Kimberly Pierce This type of sex comedy is one that is at home in the middle of the twentieth century, and Ira Wallach's script provides a savvy, but comedic insight into a number of the cultural struggles of this often considered pristine, whitewashed part of history.

Go, Johnny, Go! (1958) Kimberly Pierce All in all...Go Johnny Go! is less a movie and more a very specific snapshot of a very particular era... The film is a fascinating and important watch... for fans of early rock and roll just dont pay close attention to the acting or the script.

Love Me Tender (1956) Kimberly Pierce The period drama clearly shows just why everyone was so taken with Elvis Presley. For a performer who quickly became a well-oiled (and formulaic) machine, its refreshing to see him so raw.

Shock (1946) Kimberly Pierce Shock proves itself to be a fascinating, but slightly frustrating, under-the-radar watch. Price absolutely shines in this early starring role, showing just why his stock continued to rise throughout the 1940s.

Blind Alley (1939) Kimberly Pierce The movie proves to be a fascinating viewing as it sits on the cusp of so much Hollywood history. There's some noir in there, but at the same time, the movie is very much of the 1930s (however) there's a definite sign of things to come.

Fear in the Night (1947) Kimberly Pierce On the surface, Fear in the Night is a poverty row noir, trapped in the endless pages of the often poorly rendered, public domain movies on YouTube. However, watching Fear in the Night shows it to be quite the interesting relic of a bygone era of cinema

2/5
The Crowded Sky (1960) Kimberly Pierce All in all, The Crowded Sky is far from the best entry into the rather prolific Airplane in Trouble sub-genre... (its) script finds itself confused as to what exactly it wants to be. Is it a soap opera? Is this a disaster film? No one really knows.

Tiger Bay (1959) Kimberly Pierce Tiger Bay is a bit of a deep cut of British cinema which I found an enjoyable and eye-opening experience... (it) is a work of love showing the depth and power of the British New Wave. Theres a lot to love in this one.

3.5/5
A Matter of Innocence (1968) Kimberly Pierce It is certainly a transitional movie for the growing actress. Not only was history slowly moving passed the restraint and chastity of the early 1960s, but Mills was changing too... She was more than just Pollyanna.
