Fackham Hall (2025) Michael Cook It's Downton Abbey meets The Naked Gun. There's a gag every minute. It did lose steam in the 3rd Act, but I still had a lot of laughs with it.

If I Had Legs I'd Kick You (2025) Michael Cook It's intense, it's emotional, and Rose Byrne is one of the best actors around.

Sentimental Value (2025) Michael Cook The pathos, the emotion, the family dynamics really get you in the gut. No matter who you are you can relate to certain aspects [of the story].

Rental Family (2025) Michael Cook To see his [Fraser's] arc of becoming more connected with himself and other people is absolutely touching.

Eternity (2025) Michael Cook A delightful and unique love triangle, and a bit of a drama and a bit of a romantic comedy. I loved the originality of the concept and all the emotions wrapped up in it.

Anniversary (2025) Michael Cook I have mixed feelings on this film. It didn't feel that it went far enough on either side [the politics & the family dynamics]. And there are too many characters. 2 parents and 4 kids, so no one is given a fully developed character.

Bugonia (2025) Michael Cook This [film] is zany, hilarious with lots of twists and turns that you don't see coming.

Splitsville (2025) Michael Cook The movie takes different directions that you don't know where it's going to go, and that's one of the fun things about it. It's hilarious and incredibly well-done. This is a hidden-gem of a film.

After the Hunt (2025) Michael Cook This is probably one of her [Julia Roberts] worst movies ever. It tries to get at themes that just don't work, you get lost the pseudo-intellectual talks, and you're just bored to tears.

8.5/10
Roofman (2025) Michael Cook This is a bit of a comedy, a bit of romantic comedy, but it can get dark at times and it slightly lags in the middle. Those two [Tatum & Dunst] are fantastic together. This is a fun film, see it on the big screen.

7/10
Kiss of the Spider Woman (2025) Michael Cook Neither story quite works. Even though they're in prison, it doesn't feel like the stakes are that particularity high, and when they switch over to the fantasy part they don't give Jennifer Lopez enough to do.

One Battle After Another (2025) Michael Cook Paul Thomas Anderson is one America's best directors and this movie is fantastic. It's even frenetic in the quiet parts. It's 2 hours & 42 mins long, but you don't feel because it moves so quickly. It's a movie you need to see on the big screen.

All of You (2024) Michael Cook Brett Goldstein and Imogen Poots have fantastic chemistry. But, there is a hole at the center of the film. The test to determine your soulmate is talked about in the beginning, but never really picked up. It [the plot hole] hurt it a little bit.

Freakier Friday (2025) Michael Cook I had a lot of fun with this film. Jamie Lee Curtis absolutely kills it, has the comedic timing, and also hits on an emotional level. It's a family-friendly movie that you'll laugh out during it, because I certainly did.

Sketch (2024) Michael Cook I hope this movie gets big play because I think it's an instant classic. It got me in "the feels". You're gonna tear up, you're gonna laugh, and have a fun time, and it's good for the family.

The Old Guard 2 (2025) Michael Cook I loved the original The Old Guard, that film was a lot of fun. This one lacks heart. Even with all the action scenes you can forget that you're watching it while you're watching it.

Echo Valley (2025) Michael Cook Fantastic performances by Julianne Moore and Sydney Sweeney. This is a good thriller with a lot of twists and turns that I didn't see coming.

G20 (2025) Michael Cook I'm a huge fan of Viola Davis. She is always fantastic in whatever she is in. However, this movie does not do her justice. Visually it looks cheap. The script is so contrived and too confusing of a plot.

The Friend (2024) Michael Cook The movie is mediation on grief, loss, and loneliness. You kind of seen this movie before, but with the acting of Naomi Watts and Bill Murray it rises above some of the tropes of New York City, intellectuals, writers and so on.

Crossing Delancey (1988) Michael Cook Amy Irving is just delightful in this film. It's one of my favorite films.

Back in Action (2025) Michael Cook Cameron Diaz makes a fantastic action star and her, and Jamie Foxx, do have good chemistry. It gets boring and formulaic and a waste of these two people's [Diaz & Foxx] talent.

The Fire Inside (2024) Michael Cook The movie brilliantly portrays how she {Shields] still struggled [even after winning] and still tried to fight her way to the top. This is a heart-warming tale of the underdog.

The Last Showgirl (2024) Michael Cook Pamela Anderson is absolutely amazing as a woman dealing with the choices she made, and all the things she's done in her life, all to be a star.

A Family Affair (2024) Michael Cook These fantastic actors are not served well by this movie. It's just a pile of unrealistic contrivances. I was bored quickly with it and I recommend skipping it.

A Quiet Place: Day One (2024) Michael Cook There is a real emotional core to this film and a real emotional journey that Lupita Nyong'o goes through as she tries to keep herself, and her cat, alive. This film is absolutely fantastic. It's thrilling, it's terrifying., and keeps you guessing.

4/10
Summer Camp (2024) Michael Cook It's infuriating how bad this movie is because you have these 3 actors (Bates, Keaton, & Woodard), but the script is so clunky and not funny and you see the jokes coming a mile away.

8/10
Jeanne du Barry (2023) Michael Cook It's a standard "costume drama", but it is done well, with sumptuous costumes, filmed at Versailles, and the lead actress, Maiwenn, is absolutely fantastic.

Unfrosted (2024) Michael Cook This is a funny, silly, and ridiculous film in the best way.

The Idea of You (2024) Michael Cook Anne Hathaway absolutely shines in this movie. It's a romantic comedy for grown-ups, which you don't see often enough.

6.5/10
Damsel (2024) Michael Cook There are problems with this movie. It's a bit derivative...it feels like you've seen this story many times before. Millie Bobbie Brown is a fantastic actor, but this movie did not serve her well. It wasted the talents of Angela Bassett and Robin Wright.

8/10
Dream Scenario (2023) Michael Cook This movie is incredibly inventive. Nicolas Cage is fantastic in this role as a man who can't quite deal with all the things that are happening to him that he has no control over.

5/10
Lisa Frankenstein (2024) Michael Cook Kathyrn Newton has good comedic timing....The pacing is just too slow. It tries to be a little bit of a comedy, a little bit of a horror movie to keep to its PG-13 rating, but it really didn't succeed at either one of those.

6.5/10
Drive-Away Dolls (2024) Michael Cook This movie is supposed to absurd and slapstick, but it felt slow and unfocused. It's only 90 minutes, but I felt even that was a bit too long. Her [Qualley] accent was so bad it got on my nerves. As a Southerner it felt so fake and unreal.

The Color Purple (2023) Michael Cook This version is absolutely fantastic. The songs tell the story of what the characters are feeling.

7.5/10
Maestro (2023) Michael Cook If you didn't know anything about Leonard Bernstein as composer going into this movie, you'll leave without knowing much more. By trying to balance his story as a composer and his marriage it gave short shrift to both.

May December (2023) Michael Cook The movie becomes very twisty as Natalie Portman [her character] becomes more involved in their [Moore & Melton's characters] lives.

8.5/10
Nyad (2023) Michael Cook Annette Bening is fantastic as Diana Nyad...The core of the film is the friendship of these two women [Bening & Foster] and I loved the bond between the two characters and how they know each other's strengths and weakness.

7/10
The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (2023) Michael Cook If you've not read the book, or seen the previous movies, you won't get as much out of it. The first 2/3 of the movie is slow, plodding, and violent. The 3rd act becomes more interesting as we see the arc of Rachel Ziegler character, along with Snow's.

5/10
Pain Hustlers (2023) Michael Cook It's starts off strong, the first 40 minutes or so, but then it becomes trite and repetitive and you get bored with the whole story. It has fantastic actors, Emily Blunt and Andy Garcia, but they can only do so much with a lackluster script.

8/10
Sitting in Bars with Cake (2023) Michael Cook What makes this film work is the friendship at the core between the two main actors [characters]. It is a tearjerker, so be prepared to have your eyes water up.

8.5/10
Bottoms (2023) Michael Cook It's kind of a throwback to 80's raunchy teen comedies, but updated to today's world with Rachel Sennnott and Ayo Edebri who have fantastic comedic timing. Both of these actors are fun to watch play off each other.

Golda (2023) Michael Cook This movie doesn't do Helen Mirren or Golda Meir justice...We don't get a sense of who Golda was...we're only given a small frame {of her life}.

7.5/10
The Good Nurse (2022) Michael Cook This is kinda of a typical true crime movie than that Netflix churns out, but what makes it better is the performances of these two Oscar winners, Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne. They really elevate the material.

9/10
Nope (2022) Michael Cook It's a very layered movie, lot of themes on Hollywood and how it uses people and kinda chews them up and spits them out - figuratively. He [Jordan Peele] is probably one of our best directors today.
