No Other Choice (2025) David Opie No Other Choice might not be Park Chan-Wook’s best film, but it’s a masterpiece nonetheless. This madcap anti-Capitalist fable is sure to outlast the vast majority of other films that the Oscars nominated this week instead.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery (2025) Christopher Connor Fans of both the first two films and murder mysteries will find their grey cells engaged by Wake Up Dead Man. It once again cleverly dissects what we expect from this genre in the most meta entry in the series to date.

The Mastermind (2025) David Opie Josh O’Connor steals every scene (and a bunch of paintings, too) in what might be Kelly Reichardt’s most accessible film yet. Trust me when I say it really would be a crime to miss this in the cinema.

The Woman in Cabin 10 (2025) David Opie If you have standards and want to watch a thriller that actually grips, you might want to throw this one overboard and skip it entirely.

Sisu: Road to Revenge (2025) Amelia Emberwing If you ever wondered what would happen if Mad Max Fury Road met the Fast and the Furious franchise, this is it. Physics have no place here, all of the space is occupied by insane action and incredible heart.

HIM (2025) Amelia Emberwing Though the heavy-handedness of its messaging might be a turnoff for some, it feels completely necessary for the subject matter. With the story being elevated by strong performances, incredible set design and a banger score, HIM is impossible to ignore.

The Long Walk (2025) Amelia Emberwing There are endless adaptations of Stephen King’s many, many (many) novels. Some are great, most are just ok — as is the case for all art — and some are absolute stinkers. Francis Lawrence’s The Long Walk falls under the “great” category.
