Primate (2025) Wendy Lee Szany This is a horror movie you can have fun with. You get that "edge-of-your-seat" anxiety and excitement feel throughout. Good pacing, with characters you can invest in.

3/5
Anaconda (2025) Wendy Lee Szany The plot loses itself at times - is this about friends making an Anaconda movie or about a character's quest to fight against illegal mining? Still, I had a good time with it. Rudd and Black make a great comedic pair.

Avatar: Fire and Ash (2025) Wendy Lee Szany Avatar: Ash and Fire is stunning on screen. Love the addition of The Ash People. Varang makes a fantastic villain. However, the story felt like a rehash of the previous one. The pacing and some of the dialogue felt off.

Marty Supreme (2025) Wendy Lee Szany Chalamet is fantastic in this. Enjoyed seeing the story of Marty and his journey. The second act felt like it was starting to tell a different story, luckily the final act brought me back and ended on a high note.

Zootopia 2 (2025) Wendy Lee Szany I had no idea how much I missed these characters until I was transported back to the world of Zootopia in this sequel. Animation is gorgeous, and the story is heartwarming. Lots of laughs to be had with this one.

In Your Dreams (2025) Wendy Lee Szany In Your Dreams goes beyond the fantastical dream world to explore the deeper meaning of family relationships and dynamics. Paired with gorgeous animation and iconic needle drops, this movie is a must-watch.

Predator: Badlands (2025) Wendy Lee Szany The action is non-stop from beginning to end. Exactly what I wanted to see in a Predator-led movie. The dynamic between Dek and Thia is so fun to watch and root for. Must be experience in a theater.

Is This Thing On? (2025) Wendy Lee Szany Takes a bit to get off the ground, but overall, great performances by Arnett and Dern. Would have liked to see this film spend less time on the supporting characters whose stories didn't exactly add to the overall plot.

Kiss of the Spider Woman (2025) Wendy Lee Szany Loved the story but the pacing was uneven and took me out of the movie multiple times. Luna and Lopez are great, but Tonatiuh is the one who shines brightly in this.

Good Fortune (2025) Wendy Lee Szany A hilarious good time! Keanu Reeves is the heart and soul of this movie.

TRON: Ares (2025) Wendy Lee Szany Visually stunning. It’ll leave you entertained. I wish I could feel more invested in the characters though.

One Battle After Another (2025) Wendy Lee Szany Pure entertainment from beginning to end. Fantastic script and performances. Don't let the long runtime scare you.

The Smashing Machine (2025) Wendy Lee Szany Dwayne Johnson in his most transformational role to date. I enjoyed the film explored the personal and emotional journey of Kerr's career as well as his relationship.

If I Had Legs I'd Kick You (2025) Wendy Lee Szany It's certainly a bit of an uncomfortable watch, but the writing and the performances, especially, are really fantastic. Love the choice of keeping the camera close to Byrne's face to focus on her emotions and reactions rather than her actions.

Freakier Friday (2025) Wendy Lee Szany Great seeing Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis reprising their roles. There's a lot of heart in this movie, and they did a great job referencing the original without it feeling like fan service. The perfect movie for a mother-daughter outing.

Weapons (2025) Wendy Lee Szany This movie and its imagery will stay with you long after the movie. Loved how the story was unveiled through each character's POV. Great building of tension all the way up to that third act which was completely insane.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025) Wendy Lee Szany A refreshing entry for the MCU, the story shines the spotlight on the family dynamic and the emotions. While it has plenty of action, it doesn’t rely on it to tell a good story. Vanessa Kirby and Joseph Quinn are the standouts in this.

Elio (2025) Dustin Szany Elio's story had potential. We connect with that feeling of wanting to belong and to find a community. However, it mostly felt one-dimensional; there wasn't anything that made me feel overly sympathetic towards these characters like past Pixar films.

KPop Demon Hunters (2025) Wendy Lee Szany Whether or not you're a K-Pop fan, you will be entertained. Great animation, characters, music, and story. I need the soundtrack ASAP

Lilo & Stitch (2025) Wendy Lee Szany Disney's best live-action to date.
Posted Jun 01, 2025Edit critic review
Karate Kid: Legends (2025) Wendy Lee Szany I was curious to see how this movie would handle merging Jackie Chan's Karate Kid and the original Karate Kid franchise, and I think they succeeded in that. Ben Wang is extremely likeable as the lead.

Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning (2025) Wendy Lee Szany Wished the pacing was tighter and the dialogue didn't play so exposition heavy, but I was still entertained nonetheless. The action sequences is worth the price of admission and will keep you entertained for its almost 3-hour runtime

Final Destination Bloodlines (2025) Wendy Lee Szany Everything I wanted to see in a Final Destination film is in this!

Sinners (2025) Wendy Lee Szany There are so many genres mixed into one film, but it never feels overstuffed or convoluted. Coogler does a beautiful job with his storytelling. Watch this on the biggest screen possible.

The Amateur (2025) Wendy Lee Szany The story is intriguing, and it had the potential to be a great film. I enjoyed the characters but wanted to see the movie dig into the characters more. The third act came to a crawling halt, and it lost its momentum.

3/5
The Woman in the Yard (2025) Wendy Lee Szany First act has enough creative scares to hook you, but the movie makes a switch in its second act and suddenly you're no longer watching a horror movie. It becomes a psychological horror exploring one's depression and grief.

Disney's Snow White (2025) Wendy Lee Szany Rachel Zegler shines as Snow White. The first act started off strong, but the rest of the movie felt choppy and patched together. Gadot's Evil Queen did not work for me, though she looked fantastic.

Novocaine (2025) Wendy Lee Szany Novocaine is plenty of fun and action-filled!

Black Bag (2025) Wendy Lee Szany Smart, sexy, and had me hanging onto every word. Kept me guessing till the end.

3/5
Mickey 17 (2025) Wendy Lee Szany Director Bong Joon-Ho's wildest and weirdest dark comedy yet takes a deeper look at capitalism, corruption, colonization, and greed. Pattinson is the perfect actor for Mickey. Final act felt drawn out and uneven.
Posted Feb 16, 2025Edit critic review
Captain America: Brave New World (2025) Wendy Lee Szany The story got a bit overstuffed and made the ending a bit wobbly, but still a solid political thriller with Mackie as shining as the lead. Carl Lumbly's performance as Isaiah Bradley will break your heart.

Love Hurts (2025) Wendy Lee Szany Love to see Ke Huy Quan playing both the action hero and love interest in this movie. While fun, it felt like too many different arcs were crammed in, and the pacing was off. I also didn't feel the chemistry between the characters Marvin and Rose.

Wolf Man (2025) Wendy Lee Szany Scary, fun, and entertaining watch. I loved the way Leigh Whannell plays with sound, lighting, and creative ways of filming the scary moments where it's not solely reliant on jump scares

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (2024) Wendy Lee Szany Great seeing the dynamic of Team Sonic. Loved Reeves as Shadow, but the scene stealer was Jim Carrey's Dr. Robotnik and Gerald Robotnik.

Mufasa: The Lion King (2024) Wendy Lee Szany The more we got into the story, the more it felt like it was forced to connect the dots to what we know of the original The Lion King. Taka's reason for turning villain was a complete letdown. The songs were, unfortunately, forgetful.

Moana 2 (2024) Wendy Lee Szany The movie is at its strongest when Moana and Maui are onscreen together. The second act suffered from pacing issues but regains momentum in the third act for a strong finish.

Wicked (2024) Wendy Lee Szany Take all your worries about this musical adaptation and throw it out the window because they nail it. Cynthia Erivo and Ariana are perfect. Jon M Chu did a phenomenal job bringing Shiz and Oz to the big screen.

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl (2024) Wendy Lee Szany A feel-good, fun, heartwarming movie. Feather McGraw steals all the scenes.

Red One (2024) Wendy Lee Szany It's fun and offers a fresh take on a Christmas tale. Loved the world-building around the mythical world and the banter between Dwayne Johnson and Chris Evans.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024) Wendy Lee Szany Beetlejuice is a fun and entertaining sequel, though it doesn't quite capture the magic of the original. There were too many storylines, and most didn't stick the landing.

Alien: Romulus (2024) Wendy Lee Szany The movie achieved exactly what I was looking for - horror and tension. The cast was fantastic, with David Jonsson's Andy as the standout. The sound design and visuals are excellent. The third act is wild!

Borderlands (2024) Wendy Lee Szany The movie did not capture the essence of the Borderlands video game. The dialogue was messy and all over the place. The action scenes weren't impressive. A missed opportunity to not explore and tell the story of Lilith's origin from the game.

2.5/5
It Ends With Us (2024) Wendy Lee Szany Much of the dialogue did not work for me, even lines pulled directly from the book did not strike the same. I did not feel the spark between Lily and Ryle at all. Jenny Slate was perfect as Allysa and stole every scene she was in.
Posted Aug 08, 2024Edit critic review
Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) Wendy Lee Szany The movie is chaotic, as expected in a Deadpool film. However, within the chaos, they found time to give characters emotional arcs and moments and let those scenes breathe. Great action, great performances, a ton of fun.

A Quiet Place: Day One (2024) Wendy Lee Szany Went in with high expectations and the film exceeds it. So much more than just a horror/disaster film. There is something incredibly human and emotional about this story. Stellar sound design & cinematography. Excellent performances by Nyong'o and Quinn.

Ultraman: Rising (2024) Wendy Lee Szany Ultraman: Rising is entertaining, with gorgeous animation. It felt a bit long at times, particularly with the baby Kaiju montages, but overall, it's very entertaining.

The Imaginary (2023) Wendy Lee Szany Fans of Studio Ghibli/Miyazaki films will want to see this one. Definitely worth checking out, and I wish it was released in theaters to see the gorgeous animation on the big screen.

Inside Out 2 (2024) Wendy Lee Szany A really solid follow-up to the 2015 film. It's a bit more mature than the previous - which is natural, given Riley is now a teenager. It's so relatable and drives home a very heartfelt message. The writing is very clever. Definitely worth checking out!
