He Kills at Night (2025) 3.5/5 EDIT “A battered woman, a blood-soaked stranger, and a snowbound Christmas Eve drive turn a single car into a rolling torture chamber. He Kills at Night trades holiday cheer for claustrophobic dread, gendered terror, and a finale that hits like black ice.” – Morbidly Beautiful Dec 8, 2025 Full Review A Savage Art: The Life & Cartoons of Pat Oliphant (2025) 83% 4/5 EDIT “A Savage Art isn’t just a documentary about a cranky genius with a pen; it’s a eulogy for a world where savage cartoons could still make presidents sweat. This portrait of Pat Oliphant doubles as a potent warning shot.” – Morbidly Beautiful Dec 6, 2025 Full Review The Kiss of a Vampire (2025) 2.5/5 EDIT “Go in knowing you’ll have to forgive a lot (it's microbudget, and it shows). If you can do that, you may find yourself unexpectedly seduced by this sexy, messy, campy ode to dark seduction.” – Morbidly Beautiful Dec 2, 2025 Full Review The American Southwest (2025) 100% 4.5/5 EDIT “A visually astonishing journey down the Colorado River, The American Southwest blends awe, activism, and ecohorror as it confronts drought, dams, and a fragile future.” – Morbidly Beautiful Dec 1, 2025 Full Review Dream Eater (2025) 68% 3.5/5 EDIT “It’s not a game-changer, but its icy atmosphere, unnerving sound design, and intriguing mythology make this a worthwhile watch for found footage fans.” – Morbidly Beautiful Nov 29, 2025 Full Review Held Hostage in My House (2024) 2/5 EDIT “A deliriously silly, soapy thriller that’s best enjoyed with your brain in airplane mode. It's deeply flawed, but it has its strange charms for fans of campy B-movie melodrama.” – Morbidly Beautiful Nov 10, 2025 Full Review The Disinvited (2024) 4/5 EDIT “A tense, emotionally raw psychological thriller about belonging, betrayal, and breakdowns, Explores what happens when rejection becomes obsession. With stellar performances and a jaw-dropping final act, it’s a low-budget gem that hits hard and cuts deep.” – Morbidly Beautiful Nov 3, 2025 Full Review Shelby Oaks (2023) 55% 3/5 EDIT “A haunting, heartfelt debut that blends online folklore, found footage, and personal trauma. Shelby Oaks isn't flawless. But it’s an ambitious, beautifully shot, and deeply sincere first film that announces Chris Stuckmann as a director worth watching.” – Morbidly Beautiful Oct 24, 2025 Full Review Frogman (2023) 82% 4/5 EDIT “A cryptid comedy that croaks its way into genuine terror, Frogman is a love letter to found footage filmmaking and small-town legend. It’s clever, creepy, and packed with surprisingly strong practical effects.” – Morbidly Beautiful Oct 19, 2025 Full Review Your Host (2025) 71% 3/5 EDIT “A blood-slicked morality play for the social media era, Your Host may not win points for originality, but it delivers where it counts — in guts, grit, and gallons of fake blood. ” – Morbidly Beautiful Oct 15, 2025 Full Review Strange Journey: The Story of Rocky Horror (2025) 97% 5/5 EDIT “More than a doc, it's a glitter-soaked hymn to queer joy, creative rebellion, and community survival. A must-see for longtime devotees and a perfect initiation for the uninitiated. Like the show itself, it promises you’ll never leave quite the same.” – Morbidly Beautiful Oct 12, 2025 Full Review Deathstalker (2025) 86% 3.5/5 EDIT “Steven Kostanski’s Deathstalker is the rare remake that improves its source material by fully understanding what made it special... and what made it stupid. It’s a gutsy, goofy, gloriously gory ride packed with practical effects, heart, and humor.” – Morbidly Beautiful Oct 10, 2025 Full Review If I Had Legs I'd Kick You (2025) 92% 5/5 EDIT “The film turns a leaking ceiling into a metaphorical abyss, swallowing a woman whole as she tries to hold everything together. Rose Byrne delivers a career-best performance in Mary Bronstein’s nerve-shredding, darkly comic portrait of modern motherhood.” – Morbidly Beautiful Oct 10, 2025 Full Review Vicious (2025) 44% 3/5 EDIT “A haunting concept, a powerhouse performance from Fanning, and immaculate direction can’t save Vicious from its own murky storytelling. Still, it’s a chilling Halloween watch for those who prefer their horror messy, mean, and drenched in atmosphere.” – Morbidly Beautiful Oct 10, 2025 Full Review Beast of War (2025) 89% 4.5/5 EDIT “A blistering blend of wartime despair and shark-infested terror that delivers real, visceral fear. Powered by Mark Coles Smith’s stunning lead performance and a massive practical shark, this is war horror at its bloodiest and most human.” – Morbidly Beautiful Oct 10, 2025 Full Review Match (2025) 3.5/5 EDIT “Match takes the dangers of digital dating to deranged new depths. It's gross, gutsy, and gleefully grim.” – Morbidly Beautiful Oct 7, 2025 Full Review Coyotes (2025) 59% 3/5 EDIT “Sinks its teeth into the Hollywood Hills with gnarly gore, brisk pacing, and Justin Long and Kate Bosworth’s natural chemistry. Tonally messy and light on substance, but consistently entertaining for animal-attack fans.” – Morbidly Beautiful Oct 4, 2025 Full Review Scurry (2024) 3.5/5 EDIT “A nightmare in real time, Scurry is a one-take descent into claustrophobic terror. It drags you underground and never lets you come up for air. Tense, visceral, and suffocatingly immersive, it’s an imperfect but nerve-flaying ride.” – Morbidly Beautiful Oct 4, 2025 Full Review V/H/S Halloween (2025) 89% 4.5/5 EDIT “A grisly, gory, and wildly fun anthology that nails tonal consistency. With standout segments like Diet Phantasma, Kidprint, and Home Haunt, it’s one of the franchise’s best—and a perfect October watch.” – Morbidly Beautiful Oct 3, 2025 Full Review Good Boy (2025) 90% 4.5/5 EDIT “Good Boy takes a haunted house story you think you know and refracts it through the eyes of a loyal dog. The result is terrifying, devastating, and profoundly moving—a horror film anchored by one of the greatest animal performances ever put on screen.” – Morbidly Beautiful Oct 3, 2025 Full Review Whitetail (2025) 90% 4/5 EDIT “It’s meditative, bleak, and often punishing. But it’s also a gorgeously realized, thematically rich exploration of trauma, grief, and survival. For the arthouse crowd willing to engage with its patience-testing rhythms, it’s an unforgettable experience.” – Morbidly Beautiful Sep 30, 2025 Full Review Flesh of the Unforgiven (2024) 3/5 EDIT “A grimy, surreal micro-budget horror film that combines psychological torment with supernatural sleaze. Inspired by Hellraiser but stamped with Joe Hollow’s DIY grit, it’s a messy, bold, and anchored by a powerhouse performance from Debbie Rochon.” – Morbidly Beautiful Sep 29, 2025 Full Review The Long Walk (2025) 88% 5/5 EDIT “A beautifully crafted work of horror, one that suffocates, unsettles, and refuses to let go. By marrying haunting performances, stark visuals, and unrelenting tension with razor-sharp sociopolitical commentary, the film transcends its genre trappings.” – Morbidly Beautiful Sep 28, 2025 Full Review Theater Is Dead (2025) 3.5/5 EDIT “A girl-powered, blood-drenched, hilariously unhinged ode to the theater kid dream. With biting comedy, gnarly horror, and Shane West at his most deliciously unhinged, it skewers ambition, rivalry, and the dangerous lure of the spotlight.” – Morbidly Beautiful Sep 27, 2025 Full Review The G (2023) 100% 4/5 EDIT “A stark, unflinching thriller that transforms real-world horrors of elder exploitation into a chilling revenge saga. Slow-burning yet deeply affecting, it’s an unforgettable reckoning with the predators who profit from society’s most vulnerable.” – Morbidly Beautiful Sep 27, 2025 Full Review
