Sad little rich girl Alyssa (Ashley Olsen) and orphaned tomboy Amanda (Mary-Kate Olsen) meet at summer camp and discover that they are each other's exact double. And each girl is worried about her caregiver. Alyssa's father, Roger (Steve Guttenberg), is about to marry a gold digger, and Amanda's kind social worker, Diane (Kirstie Alley), will be pushed aside if a cruel family adopts Amanda. The girls decide to switch identities to make their loved ones fall in love with each other.

For this type of family movie it’s fun to watch and we’d certainly watch it again and again. It’s not Citizen Kane and thank god for that. But watch it with a some kids that are 6-10 and they will laugh and laugh.

If you enjoy family movies, you’ll surely love this film. It’s a stress-free watch, with everything feeling calm and comfortable—aside from the antagonist, of course. Still, it was a great film overall, highlighting family love and relationships.

At times critics seem so friggin stuffy and full of their oh so sophisticated opinions. We found this film an absolute delight, and the ‘twins’ had us laughing with their spot on rendering.

Such a fun film! I remember watching this film as a kid and I remember how fun and cute it was. I love Mary-Kate and Ashley and there is amazing chemistry between them and all of the adults in the film. This film is such a cute and cheesy film and I consider it a classic.
