Ryan T @RT91888008 3 days ago Wow! What a performance from everyone! See more Henry D @Henry_Domke Sep 16, 2026 Excellent film about death, guilt and forgiveness. Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn were perfect opposites, and the acting doesn't get better. Sarandon was calm, compassionate and restrained, while Penn was angry, defensive and gradually stripped of his bravado. The cinematography was clean and beautifully controlled without ever becoming flashy. The unusual South Asian music running through much of the film helped create an ethereal feeling, giving the story a sense of spiritual presence without making it sentimental. Bruce Springsteen's song at the end was the perfect final touch. See more Kar L @RT80921905 Aug 22, 2026 Strong premise, but did not make it's arguments all that well. Supporting characters were well cast.. See more Oliver C @OliverClose Aug 18, 2026 Dead Man Walking is a devastating crime drama that refuses to make its characters, or its audience comfortable. It asks the hardest questions about guilt, punishment, redemption, and whether compassion can exist alongside justice. Sean Penn and Susan Sarandon deliver extraordinary performances, finding humanity in a story where easy answers would have been the easiest choice. Powerful, morally complex, and deeply affecting, Dead Man Walking stays with you because it doesn’t tell you what to think. It makes you think. See more YIYI X @yiyi11 Aug 4, 2026 Revisiting this film gave me a much deeper understanding. It centers on a courageous woman whose drive to help others is perhaps also a way to heal herself, as she finds herself standing alongside a convicted killer. The immense psychological weight required to survive such an ordeal is unimaginable—even playing this role must have demanded incredible bravery. From the perspective of the victims' families, it is almost impossible to accept that a murderer could still receive grace. The film is defined by unforgettable imagery: the reflection of faces merging on the glass, the raw sorrow when a face leans against the mesh fence listening to the singing, and that final, tender handhold. I can only hope that the love depicted here is a universal, spiritual compassion; otherwise, it would simply be too painful to bear. See more Frans B @FransB Jun 21, 2026 Brilliant, powerful and shockingly revealing movie. It will make you think and doubt. Tim Robbins masterpiece. Surely an epic classic. Susan Sarandon and Sean Penn so absolutely and unabashedly convincing in character, whole stellar cast excels in character. This is not a preaching, it's the harsh reality and unsettling elements of this topic. So much emotion, intrigue, drama, suspense and real life dilemma. Absolute must - see See more Read all reviews
