J N @SunsetSpam 2 days ago Cool perspective but the movie was a bit out there — 76% See more Huntin P @PaxVobiscum80 Sep 24, 2026 Record store owner goes down memory lane to discover the common denominator in all his failed relationships (other than himself). This movie is fun, but it kind of led to the tiresome ubiquity of Jack Black, so maybe the movie is more curse than boon? See more Saori M @RT48490600 Sep 23, 2026 I enjoyed watching the main character's flaw and cluelessness in this movie. You're not suppose to like him, I think that's the point. He's very out of touch and unbothered about the consequences and pain he caused. He's slefish destructive, doesn't hold himself accountable and responsible for his words and actions and he knows he's an asshole. Yet, he fails to see why people don't "choose"him, or why he's always the one being "left". While he simultaneously does horrible things. The entire time he keeps looking for validations in women he doesn't even care about. He cheats on his gf while being butt hurt that she picks a different guy. Borrows a huge amount of money, which he doesn't return ever in the movie, a dick to his friends. Tries to win back the ex gf, while still throughout the movie never answers a simple question, asked by the gf's friend, "why do you want Laura back so bad?", he never answers it. The ending wasn't realistic, and he still doesn't get it. And hat's the point See more Kyle F @RT62663011 Sep 5, 2026 Perfect John Cusack wheelhouse! Not that anyone forgot, but definitely harkens back to why he was so loved in the 80’s. Supporting cast is great! Especially Jack Black, who shows up in spades, killing it in every scene he’s in. Finally getting leading man rights a few years later in School of Rock! See more Adam K @Adamkapl Sep 3, 2026 High Fidelity is what happens when a guy gets dumped and decides the only reasonable response is to turn his entire romantic history into a fucking Top 5 list. John Cusack spends the movie overthinking relationships, music, women, himself, and probably what sandwich he should order for lunch. It’s funny, charming, painfully relatable, and packed with enough record-store wisdom to make you want to reorganize your entire music collection and call your ex. Rob is a disaster. The soundtrack is immaculate. Jack Black is basically a human amplifier. See more Farah R @Farah Sep 2, 2026 The movie went on forever with no substance. Not only was Cusack unlikable, his entire character arc was pointless. It’s like an incel convention at that record store. See more Read all reviews
