Paul (Rufus Sewell) and his wife, Jeanne (Emmanuelle Béart), have their lives turned upside down when, in Thailand, they lose their son during a tsunami. Although the boy is presumed dead, Jeanne believes he may still be out there, since his body has not been identified. When the couple sees a video of kidnapped children, and one looks like their son, they hire a shady Thai man (Petch Osathanugrah) to take them into the city's underbelly and lead them to their son's possible kidnapper.

John F Sep 14 Pure vomit and trash. Married couple tricked and scammed out of their few possessions into a 3rd world HellHole, finally deserted by their "guides". Wife "trains" dozens of zombie kids to kill her husband,,, then she's having sex with children at the end? Sure looked like it She is insane and turns on her husband.. Ghosts or feral boy orphans I don't know which This is poison not even horror See more Alfred K 03/31/2024 I was impressed with VINYAN, but must also say it's not the typical horror move most people would come to expect. It is a very dark look at how a family might act after the loss of their child. By not emotionally accepting the loss of her son, the mother is driven by irrational feelings that her son is still alive & will do anything to find him. The father agrees to search for him too just to appease his wife, thinking that she'll come to her senses in time, however, she never does. The acting was outstanding by the main characters in the movie, & the cinematography was breathtaking. I would be careful who I'd recommend the movie to. Marriages frequently fall apart when a child dies and it is truly a long dark journey through grief and guilt that tears people apart. But what makes this film extraordinary is the setting and great cinematography, plus good performances.
