Mike G @PickleFlicks 1d This movie, when you boil it down, is a horror show. Imagine being someone who can't form new memories suddenly wakes up pregnant next to someone she doesn't recognize. Then later in life as she notices she is getting older she has little humans calling her 'mom' and she has no memory of them at all. Every single day is Stockholm Syndrome again and again. This is meant to be a love story, but it is really a stalker story that you, the audience, are also supposed to be okay with Stockholm Syndrome. There is nothing glamourous about this movie and the father and brother tried desperately to tell him to move on. And now her life begins every day with "I watch a video of someone telling me that this is my life and I'm supposed to blindly accept it." Yeah. This is a horror film, not a love story. The movie has some incredibly funny moments. It’s my go to when I’m looking for lighthearted fun. The more I watch it I always find something new to love. The ending is great and unexpected. Definitely a movie I can play on repeat. See more Mariana T @M.Tezeta Apr 3 It's impossible not to compare it to other Adam Sandler movies. If I see it that way, it's one of his best. It has a good premise, a captivating plot, and great chemistry between Sandler and Barrymore. There are many genuinely funny moments. Again, everything revolves around the main characters. On the other hand, I wish the subplots, like Sandler's at work, didn't exist. The jokes with his coworker and the walrus were disgusting. Adam Sandler's friend was pathetic. And honestly, I have a problem with the protagonist; I just don't buy that whole story about him not being committed. It feels forced at the beginning; they just mention it, and it makes it incoherent. If you cut a lot of things from this movie, it might have worked, although I'm no expert on amnesia. They were somewhat insensitive about it, but you can tell they were trying to portray an unconventional love. Anyway, it's worth watching so you can say, "Of course I've seen this Adam Sandler movie."
