Jean S @JeanieBeanie Jan 21 Wow... what a ride! It's obvious from the get this is an indy film working with a limited budget BUT if you can get past it, you'll be pleasantly surprised. Yeah, the main character is kina a dingus. He's apparently always getting into trouble which ends up causing him a ton of trouble. But let's face it, that just makes it all the more funny. On top of the silliness, it's really neat how imaginative the sets and costumes are. It's clear they pull influences from sci fi greats to build this world. There are even several throw backs to the influences. Overall, it's tons of fun on a budget. The actors were entertaining, costumes interesting, and story intriguing. They're clearly building toward something. I can't wait to see what the other installments of this story will bring! I'll be looking out for more! See more Barbara N @YagaBaba Jan 16 Aladdin 3477 is an imaginative retelling of the classic saga with a sci fi twist. The world is full of unique, compelling characters in exotic settings creating an amusing backdrop for the ridiculous antics of Aladdin (Erik Steele) and his robotic companion Fidgi as they venture to retrieve the lamp of the Jinn of Wisdom (Aaron Golematis). When they stumble across the alluring, clever, and resourceful Princess Kamala (Christi Dumar), their adventure gets sidetracked to find her. As they go along, they're pursued by angry ex-partners in crime, local law enforcement, and even mafia thugs. This delightful film includes a little of everything: action, adventure, intrigue, romance, and mythology. Couldn't think of a better way to spend a snowy Friday morning! See more Eve A @EveningAda Jan 15 So, let's look at the John Wick looking chad for Aladdin. Good choice, but I half-expected a Keanu cameo for some gag. The Sultan not having an accent but the daughter having one has me wondering if there's a bit we'll see later with the mother that might explain more of the family's background. Wasn't sure what was up with the mute girl. Maybe she does more in the next film, but she's not that impressive right now. The jinn has a witty voice, and the panda hat guy is a riot. There is so much left up in the air and so much foundation laid in preparation for the sequel, and I think it's because the movies were shot as a trilogy and not as finished, standalone films is why some people think they're not... "done" perhaps. But I'll know more when the second one comes out. Fidgi is currently the favorite for me. Definitely low budget, but that's what makes a fun popcorn film for me. I liked this better than Transformers, when Michael Bay molested my childhood. See more Zack F Jan 15 Okay, so there's a lot to unpack for an independent film with one of those lower budgets. Anyone who's capable of appreciating indie films for the passion projects that they are can tell that Matt Busch raised the bar back where indie films used to be worthy of respect in the industry. It's got a real Space Dive feel or something akin to OG Star Wars. I saw that Circus Road got behind it, so that's enough to convince me to watch something to begin with. See more Trevor S Jul 30 Aladdin 3477 is a joyful surprise that’s created with with style, charm, and ambition. Matt (Busch)’s worldbuilding is absolutely incredible. Every frame is packed with visual detail, from futuristic marketplaces to unique costume design, creating a setting that feels lived-in and expansive despite the film’s modest scale. For a small production, the film punches well above its weight. There’s a clear love for storytelling in every scene, and it’s just plain fun to watch. One of the standout highlights is Brej, a character who brings heart, humor, and unexpected surprises to every scene he is in. The performances and designs really capture what makes this film special. If you're into indie films, retro-futurist Star Warsian epics with aesthetics, or simply want something that doesn’t look like everything else out there, Aladdin 3477 is absolutely worth your time. It’s clear the team had a blast making it, and that energy translates beautifully to the screen. See more Erik S Jul 29 This film will forever be a time capsule of friendships made along the way, it was great to see all the hard work from cast and crew transform into a Sci Fi Adventure. Not only that, but kicking off a trilogy. I am excited and ready to see the next 2 films in the future. Really hoping for Aladdins redemption arc. See more Read all reviews
