It can’t of course be taken at face value as the truth about his drug addiction or broader emotional life, but it is a fine portrait of a seeker wading through the human reality at the heart of fame. Go to Full Review

It perfectly captures what it means to be a young man, hurtling through life, balancing on that high wire between folly and adulthood. Go to Full Review

We get to see [Shannon Hoon's] perspective as a talented but self-destructive person who found out that fame wasn't the answer to his problems. Go to Full Review

samuel l 12/02/2023 A very intimate look into shannon hoon life(the singer of blind melon),i am a fan of the band alongside many others and all i can say(pun) is the movie revolve about real footage and archive filmed by hoon himself,my favorite moment is when he is in japan and when he play with his niece who said there a ugly monster who can eat him,the film is full of endearing moment about a likeable but broken guy who died tragically too young See more 02/04/2022 Wow, what can I say about this movie/docu. I only seen this movie/docu. once. I went with 5 stars across the board for this movie/docu. It is really rare that I would/do rate anything this many stars for any movie/show/docu. etc.... I would watch this movie/docu. again, but f.y.i., it is really sad. If you are as old (cough, cough, wink, wink) as me then you do know what happens sadly. Not to spoil anything for those that do not know. If you are a fan of their's and their music, as I am please give this movie/docu. a watch. Go watch it and give it some love. The docu./movie is put together so well etc... It is shot on a pesonal camera of Shannon Hoon, as he films his life over a short span of time. The clips on the movie/docu. shows him as a partner, dad, friend, band memeber, and etc,,, You see him as he was. You almost feel like you have a bird's eye view if you will, it is sad in a way to watch. You will find youself relating, smiling and maybe even may shed a tear I recommed this movie/docu. 5 stars. You will learn more about this band/Shannon Hoon if you watch this docu./movie. They were/are more then a "one hit wonder" or "that band with the bee girl/bee girl video" or whatever people may think of this band etc.... See more Paul E @PassoutTomatoes 06/13/2021 I would have preferred a more typical style of documentary with interviews and a narrative of some kind. It was a very intimate look into Shannon Hoon and as a Blind Melon fan some of it was worth watching, but it probably should have been 30 minutes shorter. See more 06/29/2020 I absolutely loved this documentary. There were parts that broke my heart. There were parts that made me laugh. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who loves or wants to know more about Shannon Hoon. See more Read all reviews
