anein2 a Oct 18 This movie is supposed to be fun. It doesn't have deep characters or a good love story. But it made me laugh so hard, I had to pause multiple times. And I've never seen a more nerve-wracking scene of a toilet getting clogged. There’s not a single super gross part, just classic raunch humor. The story is super fun, all the actors are funny and well matched, and laughs never stop till the end. See more K K Apr 23 This is a fun movie. It might be a date movie, maybe a family movie, maybe 20-29 or 40ish (newly single and looking to mingle after a divorce). A variety of people might just like this movie. I saw this in theaters. That is saying something like this movie was 22 years ago. Yes, they let a 6-year-old into the theater back then and, boy, I must have been annoyingly screaming when I saw that furry ferret. My cute little mini-dwarf hamster was eaten by a ferret, so it must have been triggered big time. From that point, I saw chocolate (hamster) being eaten by the neighbor's ferret. I could not tolerate any ferrets at all. They didn't do Trigger Warnings back then, should they and will they now? WOW, that could take a lot of work as people can be triggered for so many reasons. OK, I confess no ferret and that was made up. I hope you didn't assume that I would be OLD due to seeing this in the theater, as I could have been a kiddo in the theater. Yet if you did guess, or assume I was in my 20s, you were right, so yes, getting up there in years. Yet some valid points: trigger warnings, age restrictions for movie ratings. Along Came Polly was PG-13, anyone picked that up saying 6 year old in the theater, why was he in there, tons of things movies can make us think about such as movie ratings, which I love movies everything related to movies. Along Came Polly (ACP) was a fun movie that many types of people could enjoy. Sure, I get there are demographics for movies, but too often the promo and marketing exclude groups based on cherry-picked "statistics". ACP had serious moments, infidelity (I would have a death clause in my marriage agreement), meeting new people, being programmed in our lives to conform with parents (external pressures), and tons more. Yet this movie had tons of laughs, fun moments (dancing, the ferret, the boating). So many good things. This movie had Ben Stiller all over it: a humorous, clever, quirky, fun movie with some substance and things to think about. ACP a Rom-Com and I am missing these movies in the mid-budget range, with a great stacked (full) cast. The theaters today need more of these movies. The beginning, middle and ending fit, flowed in pacing, music, dialogue. The entire cast (too many to throw up here)are fantastic.
