Everyone laughed and enjoyed it See more Albert S @WeirdoWithABeardo 2 days ago Probably one of the most epic movies ever made. So good for Halloween where you want some comedy in your horror along with action. You will quote this movie for the rest of your life. See more Huntin P @PaxVobiscum80 5 days ago Where would Game Of Thrones be without Army of Darkness? Yeah, I am being serious. As we all know, Thrones went into slow decline, then faster, then finished with the worst final season (8) in the history of telly. A few of us stuck to our guns and refused to partake of any spinoffs, not after the cynical betrayal of the original show's various character arcs. It's all a bit late now, anyway. One thing that doesn't fail, indeed it actually seems better in the aftermath of Thrones, is this, ARMY OF DARKNESS. Ash passes through a portal into a medieval world beset by the powers of darkness. A hero is needed, a man of dauntless courage, cocksure swagger, armed with a boomstick. The promised one cometh at last. This movie is full of deliciously goofy humour. A funny nightmare, a hero's journey replete with lines like, "Gimme me some sugar, baby!" A man, like Jaime Lannister, with a metal hand, but unlike Jaime, Ash won't falter, for he knows the audience wants a hero worthy of big kisses. See more Benjamin W @Code70 Sep 23, 2026 Army of Darkness feels the least like an Evil Dead movie. And that’s part of why it really works. The tonal difference between the three Sam Raimi Evil films is rather bizarre. The first one being more horror-centric, the second balancing comedy and horror, and this one being pretty much just a medieval slapstick comedy. And yet it works so well. Ash continues to solidify himself as an all-timer here, and although the film’s ambitions often exceed its budget, the rough edges are always what kinda made Raimi’s trilogy so charming. And I think that might apply here more than ever. I found the slapstick rather enjoyable, and I think this is easily the most quotable the Evil Dead movies. Practically everything Ash says is memorable. This one was great. Not perfect, but I liked it more than the first Evil Dead, and it’s probably my second favorite in the franchise overall.
