At the Devil's Door is a competently made film overall, but pushes no boundaries and doesn't really develop any sense of consistent tension. It's a postmodern horror, trying to take advantage of the shift towards slow-burn pacing to trick you into thinking that meandering = scary. Muddy rules to the universe, slim character development, and a lack of scares make this feature a relatively timid horror flick overall; there's not much in the heat of the moment to make your hair stand on end, nor in the implications of the film's demonic presence (think the wide-ranging implications left at the ending of Rosemary's Baby, there's nothing comparable here). Easily skippable. (2/5)

It's a decent horror. It has some scares, good acting and a serviceable plot. It's not the most unique story but imo the plot is executed very well. And between scares there's still a tense vibe that's eerie. If you've got nothing else to watch I think you could do a lot worse than this.
