Robert P @Superbad Sep 20, 2026 Before Sunrise = a *5* star Movie! See more Mickey B @Mickerdoo Sep 12, 2026 Actually very engrossing for just two people having existential conversations around a foreign town. Both charming. See more Marco L @decatur555 Aug 4, 2026 Before Sunrise is one of those rare small masterpieces that needs almost nothing to become unforgettable: two strangers, one night in Vienna and a conversation that gradually changes both of them. Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy are extraordinary because Jesse and Céline never feel like romantic archetypes. They contradict themselves, try to impress each other, hide behind humour and slowly reveal who they are. I identify with Jesse’s ability to turn a chance encounter into something emotionally important, although mentally I feel closer to Céline and her more open, less cynical view of love. Richard Linklater trusts conversation, silence and chemistry rather than artificial conflict. The result is intimate, intelligent and deeply romantic without ever pretending that connection guarantees permanence. See more Renaldo D @RT30888824 Jul 27, 2026 A good romance movie, with good acting and a good script. See more Vixo S @vixo_six Jul 18, 2026 Before Sunrise remains in my memory less as a sequence of events than as the feeling of being completely heard by another person. Richard Linklater builds the romance through patient movement, vulnerable conversation and the natural chemistry between Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. Their discussions about love, death and adulthood sometimes carry the certainty of youth, but that is part of the film’s honesty. Vienna becomes a temporary world where two strangers can reveal themselves without the weight of a shared past. Its beauty lies in understanding that a connection does not need to last forever to permanently change the meaning of a single night. See more Jay W @RT52162311 Jul 17, 2026 This movie has dialogue that is written so profoundly it could be poetry. But it is performed so naturally that it feels like it was improvised on the spot. The two leads have chemistry as if they had known each other for a lifetime, but at the same time just met for the first time. Nothing happened in the movie, but it was captivating from beginning to end. Goodbye. See more Read all reviews
