'Bloody Tennis' is a strange, funny, ferocious swing at genre filmmaking, and it deserves your attention. Go to Full Review

Unfortunately, the screenplay is too weak in support of its ideas, the characters are not developed enough, and the performances often make the academy feel more cartoonish than sinister. Go to Full Review

A tighter focus on those inner workings would make for a more lasting and effective film, but as it stands, this is still an entertaining and icky entry in the sport horror subgenre. Go to Full Review

It is the perfect doubles-partner to Dario Argento’s ballet school-set SUSPIRIA; that it earns the comparison at all is testament to its effectiveness as a smart, sexy, gruesome riff on steely-cold ambition. Go to Full Review

Alex B @AlexBioni 1 day ago I'm Your Daddy Now I don't know why I was interested in this, but I pushed through. Even with my complaints, I wanted to see where it ended up. I like the setting, and the story and style reminded me of Him, but instead of football, this is tennis. The dialogue is bad, and Elina Lowensohn's performance is god awful. Everyone is so cruel for a tennis academy. Things feel random, from the guy with the kitten to putting Sophie in a bag and then nothing happening. The story is thin, and I don't understand the academy's motives beyond making them the best. Some violence looks good, while other scenes have fake blood. The editing is bad, and the final tennis game is rough. Then that last serve had me thinking, what the heck am I watching? The acting felt like Squid Game dubbed into English, with over the top performances and bad execution. The ending made no sense. The red sunset was stupid, and the switch to metal felt lame. I hated Fred. I won't watch this again or recommend it. See more sebastian andres O @Yoamoalcine 2 days ago It's an experience that, for fans of this type of film, will be quite fun, as long as you switch off your brain and let yourself be surprised by what it has to offer. If we try to make sense of what we see, we'll lose focus, since the film is full of inconsistencies that are best ignored. Thus, we find ourselves with one of those horror films with a hidden world that can only be truly enjoyed in that way. A daring offering from the German director, who knows how to take advantage of the great performance of his protagonist, who carries the entire weight of the film on his shoulders. A pleasant surprise, not extraordinary, more like decent, but with a certain charm that makes it worth at least giving it a chance to be seen and laugh at its body horror, clearly inspired by titles like Hostel and its ilk. In short, an interesting offering. See more Timothy P @timop1919 5 days ago Needlessly unpleasant with no payoff. And if you know anything about tennis, it sucks. And the characters are just caricatures of humans. It's just really bad. See more B P @Bradster69 6 days ago Entertaining Eurohorror Serves Up High Body Count See more Read all reviews
