However, it's clearly a biopic, nothing more. Rami Malek plays Freddie Mercury and brings us closer to his story, but he doesn't embody him with the flawless performance many praise. The narrative works, but the perspective from which "Freddie Mercury's story" is told remains unclear. Is it a queer perspective? A heteronormative one? Or is it simply a story, plain and simple?
