Danny Noonan (Michael O'Keefe), a teen down on his luck, works as a caddy at the snob-infested Bushwood Country Club to raise money for his college education. In an attempt to gain votes for a college scholarship reserved for caddies, Noonan volunteers to caddy for a prominent and influential club member (Ted Knight). Meanwhile, Danny struggles to prepare for the high pressure Caddy Day golf tournament while absorbing New Age advice from wealthy golf guru Ty Webb (Chevy Chase).

Essentially 'Animal House' on the links, it's neither as raucous nor as outrageous as that definitive college comedy but it has the same rebellious spirit and a great cast of comedy legends showing the young co-stars how it's done.

Caddyshack is problematic today in that it depicts racism and bigotry, but non-snowflake viewers should have no problem understanding that such outdated attitudes are the target of the film’s irreverence...

This is one of those movies that isn't amazing in today's world to a modern audience, yet it is still hilarious and charming. The gopher in this movie is one of the most stand out parts, even though it feels more akin to something that would be in a children's movie, and Bill Murray is amazing with it. Also, Rodney Dangerfield and Chevy Chase both have that swagger to them, even though they both have insanely different versions of swag.

A legendary classic. The one scene involving Murray and Chase at the same time is incredible considering how much they disliked each other. Rodney Dangerfield needs no introduction, he steals the show. Ted Knight delivers at the villain and showed just how great he was as a comedian.

The gopher is the star of this movie. Growing up, Caddyshack was always looming in the background of my life. My dad quotes it most every day and I didn't even know til I watched it for the first time tonight. One of my fondest memories of my late grandpa is watching Charlotte's Web with him almost every time we came to stay over at his house. One time, we watched it after dinner, and when it was done, my sisters and I were carted off to bed, while my dad and grandpa stayed up to watch Caddyshack, one of their favorites. I was bummed that I didn't get to stay up late, but I remember sneaking a peek and seeing Danny walk down the stairs and eat Cheerios. Now, probably 7ish years later, that memory has been fulfilled. This movie will always remind me of my grandpa, and I'm so excited to hopefully share this film with my son.
