See more Darrin G @realwildchild76 Aug 2, 2026 Classic 80’s romantic comedy that introduces us to Patrick Dempsey who eventually became known as McDreamy on Grey’s Anatomy years later but here is a big dork looking to increase his popularity during senior year by paying the hottest girl in school to pose as his girlfriend. It’s a sweet film that turns up that 80’s charm. This is a rewatch for me since I recently got a boot legged copy of it on blu ray. See more Farah R @Farah Jul 14, 2026 Can't Buy Me Love is a rare 80s teen movie that delivers a meaningful message without drowning in sappiness. The story wittily avoids the stereotype of painting the nerds as victims and the popular kids as villains. Instead, delving deeper into the harsh realities of the era’s high school social hierarchy. The characters are incredibly well-written and the actors did a great job of making them likable. I can see why it became a classic.
