From roughly the same era, I was also reminded of the largely forgotten films of Drake Doremus, such as 2011’s Like Crazy, where the characters similarly function as outlines for us to fill in with our own memories of love and heartbreak. Go to Full Review

Not every movie has to break the mold. Some romances just need to touch on a universal experience in a way that’s engaging and warm. Go to Full Review

Charlie Harper suffocates honest emotion with manipulative music cues and tired clichés, squandering two fantastic lead performances on an amateurish, sloppy script. Go to Full Review

The well-acted drama Charlie Harper overcomes its slow pacing and disjointed narrative with engaging performances from Emilia Jones and Nick Robinson. This autopsy of a failed romance has emotionally authentic and realistic moments. Go to Full Review

Rosette 11 hrs ago It was slowly building the story for the viewer. I especially liked that it wasn’t in chronological order because it mirrors your memories and how they become distorted after the relationship, and I love the deep themes of love and loss and growth. I walked out of there feeling stronger in my sense of self having healed from a long relationship. See more Cecil Roberson 3 days ago The film is beautifully acted by the leads, Emilia and Nick. It is also smartly written and a realistic portrayal of the rollercoaster of young love. It’s a solid film. See more Glenda 5 days ago The quality for sure was an indie movie. I enjoyed the realistic relationship dynamic between the main characters but it didnt capture my attention as much as other movies Its one that you can wait till it hits streaming services. See more jesse v 5 days ago a lookback of a love relationship between teenagers and their lives. nothing else. no frills, though i wish there were the inclusions of their parents and more cellphone usage and more friend groups (and how the characters got them). Also EAT YOUR HEART OUT TONY [the movie] and ONE NIGHT ONLY!! but how exactly did the gathering dinner happen? and how did Harper navigate life being dyslexic? also the new years dancing scene should have had HALF flashing lights, think of the epilepsy warning! i also wished there was more setup connecting the present timeline and future timeline, like 20 minutes extra. also less forced new Orleans scenery See more Autumn B @RT31093431 4 hrs ago This movie connected with me on so many levels. As someone who turned 18 in 2007, it was so nostalgic to see memories of the past. On another level, I instantly connected with both Charlie & Harper and their differences in ambition and wants for the future as I've struggled with both sides myself. The movie was well shot and had great world building while creating a dynamic relationship from start to finish and beyond. See more Fernando 13 hrs ago Loved it. Loved that it was very real.
