The composer Frédéric Chopin (Piotr Adamczyk) is entering a fruitful period musically, with expectations that moving to Paris will inspire him further. However, when he arrives in the city, he is met with general indifference -- in no small part due to an outbreak of cholera. Chopin's fortunes change for the better when he encounters Amantine Dupin (Danuta Stenka), who writes novels under the pseudonym George Sand, but their affair is constantly undercut by their egos and artistic ambitions.

11/28/2013 good period/historical drama See more 06/24/2012 Great music and nice to learn about the life of this important composer. See more 06/22/2011 His life didn't touch my heart. See more 07/04/2010 Dear Chopin, I rather listen to your music, 'cause you were surrounded with stupid people and weren't smart enough to get out of it. See more 09/24/2008 I adore Chopin music!!! Actually the play of the music was great, But I expected the movie to be much better. See more 08/18/2008 All the stars come purely from costumes and sceneries. Acting is just terrible: Chopin either didn't talk or when he talked, I wanted him to stop. The story is cheesy and historically incorrect: it focuses on Chopin's sex life, even though Chopin was told to be asexual. See more Read all reviews
