Well-acted and visually striking, Come True offers an eerily effective reminder of how the sleeping subconscious can be fertile ground for horror.

This thrifty psychological thriller comes so close to realizing its mindfuck potential that if you squint just right while streaming it, it looks a bit like a cult classic. Go to Full Review

Burns' script is just as concerned with the weirdness of Sarah's waking life as it is the literal monsters that populate her dreams, and the filmmaker's ability to balance and juxtapose those two portions of the film only strengthen each section. Go to Full Review

Unfortunately, Anthony Scott Burns chose to end Come True with a lazy, fatuous twist-for-the-sake-of-a-twist affront to everyone who’d just given him 100 minutes of their time. Go to Full Review

H Q 03/22/2021 The first 2 great acts certainly make up for the mediocre 3rd act. Just enjoy the trip. See more Logan D 1d A homeless girl (Julia Sarah Stone) volunteers for a sleep study in order to have some funds. She begins to not only question the motives for the study but reality itself. Centered on dreams and sleep deprivation, Come True questions our epistemic certainty by twisting reality once we are comfortable in the narrative. I really enjoyed thinking about the ideas presented within but I think the film can be enjoyed simply as an unsettling sci-fi movie. The aural ambience provided by an electronic score enhances the experience of the haunting images representing dreams. See more Jamie S @Jamiexx 6d If you enjoy movies that are unique and make you think, watch it. Honestly at the end of the movie my mind was blown. Then I read an article about all the hidden meanings behind every little detail and my mind was even more blown. See more Claudio C @Claudio666 Sep 22 Come True (2020) Only the Soundtrack Is Worthy (11,930 - 21 Sep 2025 – by Claudio Carvalho) The eighteen-year-old Sarah Dunne (Julia Sarah Stone) is estranged to her mother, and sleeps in a park or at friends’ home. Consequently, she is sleepy at high school. When she sees an advertisement of an institute that is studying sleep and paying US$ 12 per hour of sleep, she applies to herself. She meets the four scientists under the command of Dr. Meyer (Christopher Heatherington) and the other volunteers and is accepted in the research. But soon her nightmares affect her life, and she wants to know the purpose of the sleep study. “Come True” is a Canadian horror movie by Anthony Scott Burns with a confused story and screenplay. The plot is developed at a very slow pace and if the viewer closes his eyes, he will certainly take a nap. Sarah is not well developed, and the viewer never learns the reason why her relationship with her mother does not exist. In the end, only the soundtrack is worthy. My vote is three. I'll admit that the film startled me. And at the end, my mouth was agape, I could not believe what I had seen.
