Ed . @RT01276001 Aug 29 The Devil Made Me Do It Very few sequels surpass the original (possibly The Godfather II, Star Trek III The Wrath of Kahn, Porkys II). Very many are very inferior (Speed 2, Superman IV, Caddyshack II). This one holds its own fairly well. While it lacks the punch of The Omen simply by being second, it still commands suspense and a strange satisfaction of witnessing the horrors. Having William Holden and Lee Grant star certainly helps. Most critics rate this film to be not as good as the first one, but some, like Vincent Canby of the NY Times, found it more fun to watch. I think my comment above agrees with his take. The character development is stronger, especially with Damien, whose growing awareness of his dark destiny adds a layer of psychological tension. See more Justin T @RT08580778 Apr 24 Looking at the film I liked the movement and the style. The locations looked amazing. The sound has not aged well and actually sounds fairly terrible. It had no bass and the high end was pushed way too far. The murder death kills were pretty cool (especially the elevator death) although not that gory but as this is a thriller I didn’t mind. The story didn’t really progress from the first film and there was no real suspense. Quite well paced and nice to look at but ultimately more of the same. See more Read all reviews
