Mike R @RT53140111 7 hrs ago I watched this after I binge watched Dare Devil the show. It felt like there was too much action and not enough time for character development. Even though the show is light years ahead in quality and story telling, the movie had its own charm and the soundtrack was great and nostalgic to boot. This movie has heavy use of CGI which normally isn't a bad thing but early 2000s CGI looks very dated now and is almost cringeworthy. Not even the show that was released over a decade later uses or relies on this amount of CGI usage. Matt Murdock's back story is pretty consistent with the show but other characters like King Pin, Elektra and Bullseye aren't totally consistent with the story given in the show. Despite all its flaws, I still like the action and whitey 2000s humor. I highly recommend watching the show first and regard the movie as an abridged theatrical version of the DD lore. The show explores lots of character back stories in depth, so the movie will make more sense after. See more Jasmine W @jasniquejewels Aug 31, 2026 has it's flaws but iconic in a sense. See more Frans B @FransB Aug 17, 2026 Very well done. Enjoyed it a lot. "DULL" you say ????🤔 , oh well, perspective might differ. Great cast, all convincing in character. Love the darkness and great cinematography to amplify it, it's what the story is about, isn't it? Ben Affleck shines as Matt Murdock. Lots of action, innovative fight scenes, drama, suspense, emotion, intrigue and twists. Great movie See more Ed R @JustcallmeER Aug 3, 2026 Although a dull version of what could have been, the story was key and exact to the comic books, which I loved! See more diogo13 T @Tua_mera Jul 11, 2026 Mano, como este filme é mau… Even for an early‑2000s superhero movie, it feels messy, awkward, and honestly boring. The tone is inconsistent, the story doesn’t flow, and the characters never feel believable. The romance with Elektra is rushed, Bullseye is goofy, and Fisk feels like he’s trying too hard to seem intimidating. There are a few moments where I can see what they were aiming for, but nothing comes together. The action is weak, the dialogue is rough, and the whole movie feels outdated in a way that isn’t charming. Compared to modern superhero films — or even other early‑2000s ones — this sits near the bottom for me. In short: A clunky, poorly executed superhero movie that never finds its footing. Definitely one of my least favorites. See more Read all reviews
