Critics Consensus

Fast, funny, and gleefully profane, the fourth-wall-busting Deadpool subverts superhero film formula with wildly entertaining -- and decidedly non-family-friendly -- results.

A+

Miller’s movie doesn’t need to be a bonafide masterpiece to be a perfect movie in its own regard, and Deadpool certainly is that. Maximum effort!

“Deadpool” is essentially an origin story and not a particularly original one. But its hope is that you’ll be so involved in the comic mayhem that you won’t care.
