In 15th-century Transylvania, Vlad III (Luke Evans), prince of Wallachia, is known as a just ruler. With his beloved wife, Mirena (Sarah Gadon), Vlad has brokered a prolonged period of peace and ensured that his people are protected, especially from the Ottoman Empire. However, when Sultan Mehmed II (Dominic Cooper) demands 1,000 of the country's boys, including Vlad's son, for his army, Vlad makes a deal with a monster that will enable him to defeat the Turks -- but cost him his humanity.

I actually would more give it a 4/5 but this movie is unfairly panned in my book. It could have focused more on the intrinsic dilemma of the character that it sacrifices some of the horror roots for but I really liked it a lot. Its a good action movie with a horror aesthetic and some fun period piece popcorn (Comic-y dialogue, medieval grunge, and shirtless eye candy.)

"Dracula Untold is the best movie I have ever watched. I really loved it from start to finish. The main actor was absolutely amazing and gave a powerful and emotional performance. The story, action, and visuals all worked perfectly together. It kept me fully engaged the whole time. Definitely one of my all-time favorites!"

I'm shocked at how low this movie scored. I thought this movie was amazing! It completely encapsulated the intrigue and menace of Count Dracula, and the story, action, and visuals of the movie were incredible. I definitely recommend this for action, fantasy, horror, and medieval fans!

Definitely undeserving its low "critics" and "audience" scores. The plot of a king that faces ruin for his kingdom and even menace for his beloved family is a very relatable human predicament, and the desire to have the power to change oneselves fate too. The movie develops this plot in an enjoyable way, with a suficient reasoning depth to feel like the movie's scriptwritters did a nice job crafting a movie that one could watch many times with satisfaction. The scenography and effects are 9/10 and consistent throughout the movie progression. The dialogues are very matured and the actoring skills of the cast are enjoyable to watch. Definitely, a must watch epic tale to even rewatch at least 3-5 times.
