I agree that some of the surprises they threw our way were good and this part was comparatively less misogynistic, but the first movie was still sufficient. The maker merely created more problems in order to solve them. I found his whole movie-making-craze tangent to be such crap, especially bringing in a mediocre, no-sales book to the court to prove absolutely nothing. Now, it was obvious he would do something about the skeleton, but the way it unfolded was creative. Yet, at the end of the day, it did not feel as entertaining or gripping—new elements to shovel out a decaying story that was buried 6 feet under 6 years ago. Although seemingly derivative from the first one it felt like this was something that he thought would be a good thing to do rather than setting out to do something completely new. It is an impressive successor to the first part Drishyam See more yash b @yashbansal 10/04/2021 To be honest, I couldn't see why "Drishyam" needed any sort of sequel. The story has a good ending and I thought it could stand alone just fine. This sequel isn't quite as memorable as the first movie, but it is surprisingly effective and makes itself feel necessary. At first, the movie didn't grab me but as it progressed I became more and more invested. This resulted in a highly enjoyable second half full of twists and turns that are a lot of fun. I also liked that every detail in this movie actually comes into play in the payoff by the end so it doesn't feel like it wastes any time, even when it is a bit slower in the beginning. Overall, this is a good sequel to the original version of a story that has been remade so many times within India, so I am glad I got to check out both of these. See more Read all reviews
