Anna (Whitney Peak), grieving the sudden death of her parents, relocates from New York to a small Florida town to live with the grandmother (S. Epatha Merkerson) she has never met. Isolated, vulnerable, and in need of friends, she finds brief solace in the company of two local teens (Finn Bennett, Laken Giles). But when she becomes complicit to their unforgivable act of violence, she finds herself ensnared by Mr. Sandman -- the twisted soul of a tormented child who haunts bullies' dreams before feasting on their eyeballs when they finally wake -- Anna must right her wrong before becoming a victim of this gruesome curse.

Even if the taut screenplay somewhat disappoints in the finale, Tilley keeps the visual aspects first-rate and never loses sight of what he has set out to accomplish. Go to Full Review

It truly is some fascinating worldbuilding. Of course, a little more explanation for the character (or just more excessive backstory) wouldn’t have hurt. Go to Full Review

Compared to contemporary horror, Eye for an Eye takes a more traditional route. The film thematically leans heavily on overused horror cliches, but its real focus, and perhaps the most effective element, is its surrealness. Go to Full Review

Imagine “What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?” (1982) without the overt abuse, and then suddenly some kid drops in completely clueless about the mess that they walked into. Is this hagsploitation? If it is, then more of this please and thank you! Delicious Go to Full Review

Olivia V 2d Trust me, these are not real reviews. This movie is so stupid! Low budget & could have potentially been something. It is NOT. It's confusing & boring. Save your time! Do not watch this crap. I'm talking about the 2025 version, where it begins with the cheerleader performance then it says "Present Day " no idea where, when, what happened prior and who is who lol such a dumb stupid movie. See more John S @JusticeHat 3d Lesser-known horror films continue to inspire me. Just a few minutes ago, I watched a movie titled An Eye for an Eye, which also goes by Night Terror. Both titles work, but the first one feels closer to the spirit of the film. What I want to highlight is the film’s oppressive atmosphere, built patiently and deliberately. Minute by minute — through a soundtrack that feels like shifting quicksand and visuals that evoke nightmares and hallucinations — I found myself sinking into a state somewhere between sleep and waking. I didn’t always know what to expect, and I wasn’t always comfortable surrendering to the images created by the filmmaking team. This is a solid piece of work that relies not on jump scares, but on a carefully constructed mood. Together with Anna, the viewer moves from one nightmare to the next, confronting a central question: how can a person resist the spiral of violence? See more nilufer e @Nilicim Jan 3 It has a strong atmosphere and handles its revenge theme without going overboard. While the pacing slows down at times, it manages to maintain a sense of tension throughout. It may not offer major surprises, but it knows its tone and purpose and keeps you engaged. They could’ve done so much more with this story line but it just became cheesy and anticlimactic See more Read all reviews
