David B @Bowcoyi Dec 13, 2025 Fantastic movie, got me gripped from the first 20 minutes. Great cast and well acted. Liked Bill Travers as the lawyer. Ending could have gone a bit further and showed what happened to Lilly as surely she would be a suspect to more questions. See more henrietta jane p @RT79582589 Jul 15, 2025 Excellent, atmospheric thriller, well written, performed and filmed. Being an old film, everything is well-lit and crisp, despite the fog. As cruel as Anderson's Little Mermaid (who rescues the prince only to see him marry another girl) - the parlourmaid isn't allowed personal happiness. First-wife-killer Stewart Granger befriends her but gets engaged to a rich girl. You know there'll be no happy ending for Jean Simmons but have to watch as she realises what he's done, and is drawn into protecting her wicked employer. See more Bill B @RT01438538 May 5, 2024 Peculiar melodrama with Granger uncharacteristically playing a murderous sociopath. Some of it doesn't make a lot of sense, but the twisted ending is certainly memorable. See more Steve D @RT35616104 Jan 24, 2024 Great game of cat and mouse with strong work from all involved. Nevertheless, the production design, the colors used in the cinematography, a great performance from Jean Simmons and a curious story, makes "Footsteps in the Fog" a good entertainment, although it fails a little bit on its artistic ambitions.
