It's fascinating to watch Liu carry out the process of identifying and locating the girls' parents, which starts as an ad on social media (the tool that enabled this whole project to exist at all) with photos of the children.

[Found} isn’t the movie for you if you are looking for endless facts about the One China Rule. For that, watch Amazon Prime’s One Child Nation. Found is much more personal and intimate. It’s not just about personal identity, but a cultural one.

'Found' is a feature documentary about three Chinese girls living in America who are related. They get to know each other and decide to investigate why their parents gave them up for adoption. This is an important movie for anyone who's been adopted. These are the thoughts you go through and the journey for each of the three cousins is unique and nuanced. The film is a heartbreaking look at parents who gave their girls up for adoption because they were forced by the Chinese government. It's not for everyone, but if you connect with this doc the tears will flow from both joy and sadness. Final Score: 8/10
