Laurent is a married businessman who has no qualms over stepping outside his marriage, believing his wife, Loli, is fine being none the wiser. While he has one fling after another, Loli takes care of their house and children -- but this pattern is about to change. Set aside the subject matter, and French Twist is as simple, as moronic and as uninteresting as the American "dumb and dumber" movies.

A madcap French comedy that breaks the traditional formula of a love triangle.

The bottom line is that French Twist is infinitely more challenging in its sexual politics than [La Cage aux Folles]. In Balasko’s world, sexual orientation is infinitely more fluid than we supposed.

An unhappily married housewife (Victoria Abril) falls for a lesbian drifter (director Josiane Balasko) at the same time she learns of her husband's serial infidelities ... so she asks the lesbian to move in with them. Clearly intended as a satire, but none of the characters are recognizable as real people, which really hurts any satirical force this might have had.

While it's not a hilarious movie, it was still fun and definitely entertaining throughout. Plus, things are helped by great performances by Abril and Balasko. Despite a few too many slow spots, this is still a good film that is worth your time

The twist falls short, but it is very French.

mostly it was hilarious, but some parts toward the end you dunno whether to laugh or hurl. very 'cuckoo', this one. the cheating husband and the actor who played his clueless friend were good. definitely a twist at the end alright.
