Martin B @RT44235356 Mar 17 I feel betrayed. Loved the story that was evolving like a rom-com with quirky characters lead by Shlesinger and her rapier wit. But in the end it proved to be a depressing movie based on bitterness and the spite of one woman who got deceived by on man. Shlesinger using the movie as a vehicle for communicating a greater meaning that men in general can't be trusted. A comic that writes and acts in a spite movie deserves the low audience reaction the move has earned. "Romance-Comedy".......false advertising nothing romantic or comedic about it. It’s a quirky story (apparently partially a true story) so if there’s nothing else on, then this isn’t a bad choice. See more Joanna T @aerialgirly92 Feb 15 Entertaining movie based off of a true story from a comedian, who also plays the main character in the movie. A guy sees her at the airport, is attracted to her, and is keen on getting to know her. He goes to her comedy show after, befriends her & then gets her to date him through perseverance as she wasn't initially attracted to him. But things start falling apart as she discovers that he lied about his fancy job, owning a home, his mom having cancer and more. He felt like he had to lie to get her to like him. He is a narcissist with self esteem issues. Her friend sees through his act & did the investigation for her, as she herself never suspected anything. The relationship blows up and they break up. It feels relatable to dating today when it comes to certain guys! I liked the snippets of her comedy show throughout the movie. See more Stuart M @RT40515375 Oct 26 Absolutely shocking. If it is based, even loosely on true events, then she's so thick it's unreal. The actual footage of stand up parts confirms she's stupid and I can't believe she'd actually admit to this being based on anywhere like real events. This also did a good job at showing that the guy doesn’t have to be traditionally abusive or mean to be a bad guy, nice guys who lie or do anything mundane are also bad.
