Its unusual amalgam of low-key, keenly observed naturalism and WTF inexplicability is potent enough to keep viewers enraptured. Go to Full Review

This mesmerizing film from directors Rania Attieh and Daniel Garcia is filled with images that suggest connections to myth - like the head of a giant classical statue that's shown floating, impossible, down the Hudson River. Go to Full Review

A concoction of images and repeated symbols will lodge themselves in your mind after the credits roll, but your remembrance of the film may feel more like a murky nightmare than a cohesive cinematic experience. Go to Full Review

Logan D 4d When a meteor explodes over their city, two women each named Helen deal with how it affects their lives. The older Helen (Robin Bartlett) has an oddly realistic doll that she treats as hers, even getting up in the AM hours to "feed" it. The younger Helen (Rebecca Dayan) is 4 months pregnant and worries the event will affect her child. This film focuses on the primary trait we identify with women, that of giving birth to children. Older H has a husband that tolerates her eccentric behavior but has a life outside her. Younger H is engaged but expects her partner to disappear any day. Each has anxiety surrounding their motherhoods. I'm not sure what this film was attempting to say. It has some beautiful moments and strong performances by each actress. It's incoherence in a world that should be coherent. These women aren't heroes. They don't investigate the situation. They just attempt to live when things fall apart. It's an enjoy the journey type of film with no answers. See more nilufer e @Nilicim 05/16/2021 It was exciting in the beginning, I wasn't sure if it was going to be a psychological thriller or and alien abduction sort of thing but it was neither. Too weird for my taste. Two Helens in a town called Troy, two opposite people, don't know what any of those mean. See more 03/07/2018 THERE WAS PLENTY OF INTERESTING IMAGERY AND SOME ODD BUT INTERESTING CHARACTERS, BUT NOTHING WAS DONE WITH WITH THEM. IT BEGAN INTERESTING, BUT WAS ULTIMATELY VERY DISAPPOINTING, SEEMING A WASTE OF MY TIME. IT WAS LIKE A TONED DOWN VERSION OF CAT SOUP. See more 07/21/2017 Disappointing. It was interesting enough to finish it but to much was unsaid. I wouldn't recommend it to a friend.
