Nick F @RT70468548 Aug 20, 2026 Hannie Caulder is 1971 Western starring Raquel Welch as a woman raped by three outlaws and who then sets out to seek revenge. To accomplish this, she enlists the aid of a bounty hunter, played by Robert Culp, who while a well-established TV actor, delivers a strangely subdued performance in this movie. Saying little and wearing glasses, he looks more like a schoolteacher than a gunfighter. The outlaws, played by Hollywood stalwarts Ernest Borgnine, Jack Elam and Strother Martin, play their roles rather like the three Stooges and the result is a Western which appears unsure whether it is a drama or a comedy. The standout performance is from Raquel Welch, a far better actor than her glamour roles ever allowed her to be. She is convincing and engrossing, and deserved far better from the usually reliable director Burt Kennedy, who later boasted that he made the movie for one million dollars in just 40 days. That’s the problem – it shows! REVIEWED by Nick Fletcher. See more Stephen C @bob25009 Jul 20, 2025 Success in 1 hour and 25 minutes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See more M G @RT84299714 Mar 6, 2024 One of my favorite movies. Yes, it's a bit schlocky, but the music is beautiful, so is Ms. Welch and Robert Culp's performance as Thomas Luther Price is one of his best. See more Per S @RT83737705 Oct 23, 2021 A good western, typical revenge plot, still unusual at the same time, but with ups and downs. Very good interaction between Raquel Welch and Robert Culp, while the three crooked brothers, portrayed by Ernest Borgnine, Jack Elam and Strother Martin are far above limit with over acting. Unnecessary for such a experienced cast. Could have been quite a classic, but instead becomes a half breed comedy, which it's not. See more Read all reviews
