The film is destined to be ignored as it bounces from one streaming service to another in the near future, and as rudimentary and familiar as this subtle scare-fest may be, part of me can’t help but think that’s frustratingly too bad.

In the Fire isn’t particularly remarkable and may have benefited from a more profound exploration of its themes, but Allyn delivers a subtle exercise in horror, led sturdily by Heard.

While beautifully shot and filled with great emotional performances, In the Fire isn't quite the smart horror it presents itself to be. It falls into every generic trap imaginable and is easily one of the most predictable films of the year.

the acting, cinematography, the score, everything was beautiful, i'm so grateful i was able to see this in theaters. such an excellent, heartbreaking, emotional, and bittersweet film. the tension between science and religion was very intense and well done. i truly haven't seen a single film like it. just simply amazing in my opinion.

I was not expecting this movie to be too good, but definitely was NOT expecting it to be THIS BAD! I was already bored 15 mins in, nothing really happens, bland dialogues, bad acting, the boy's Spanish is TERRIBLE, priest Spanish is also terrible and their characters are supposed to be native speakers. Amber Heard's performance is somewhat unnatural, very much like acting, the kid's performance is quite bad, you end up pretty much hating the character as a result of the acting. Performance by Eduardo Noriega could have been really good as it is evident he is a good actor, unfortunately the script did not help. Completely unnecessary sex scene, kind of a cringe moment as a matter of fact. I don't recommend, it was a bit hard to watch.
