Just Visiting is an American retelling of the 1993 French comedy blockbuster Les Visiteurs in which stars Jean Reno and Christian Clavier reprise their popular roles for original director Jean-Marie Gaubert. In the film, A French nobleman, Count Thibault of Malfete (Jean Reno) and his servant André (Christian Clavier) find themselves in modern day Chicago -- transported from the 12th century due to a wizard's flawed time-travel potion.

This is a greatly toned down remake of the hit French comedy "Les Visiteurs." The result is a soft family friendly fairy tale. By no means a memorable film, but a heartwarming one.

En passant aux Etats-Unis, les Visiteurs ont perdu toute leur misanthropie, toute leur satire et toute leur originalité. De ce fait, Les Visiteurs en Amérique est pour la première fois dans la franchise un film sympathique, aimable et agréable. Extrêmement inoffensif, le film de Jean-Marie Poiré (qui a enfin des monteurs compétents) est infiniment supérieur à ses deux aînés grâce à cela. On a déjà vu tout ceci mais pas avec cet esprit-là. Un peu de compétence ajoutée et 20 minutes en moins que le film original changent absolument tout et nous sommes devant un moment acceptable tant qu'il se sépare de son modèle (autant vous dire que les 30 premières minutes sont catastrophiques). Christina Applegate, Matt Ross et Tara Reid sont excellents.
