This Aronofsky guy puts up this Groundhog Day type of horror show complete with some macabre effects and the usual sycophantic denizens of Hollywood eat it right up - and for what possible reason than its feeble attempt at being somehow unique. Which it isn't - it's simply a fetid pile of detritus dumped on us as are so many other "psychological" near-attempts with no meaning other than some whacked out transient effects which will play to a select group of elite phonies. There is no message whatsoever. Do not waste your time seeing this movie - it isn't worth the energy I expended to diss it. See more Thom M @rollingcodes Jul 11 Great performances and cinematography— unfortunately, there is a point where no amount of talent can fix a poorly laid out script that is trying to do way too many things at once. My single complaint about the film was that it built everything properly all the way up to the climax, only to then cancel its own world-building with that ridiculously off-brand ending. The explosion was the climax we were all waiting for; the desperate final act of agency… but then the last 5 minutes could not have been executed any worse, and even felt like an entirely different movie, because it literally muted the best parts of the story so badly it doomed the entire production.
