Nadeem R @RT84769675 21h Mustache is one of the most genuine and heartfelt films I've seen in a long time. Imran Khan tells this story with so much care and authenticity that every moment feels real. Nothing is overdone, and that's what makes it so powerful. Every character brings something different to the story, and each one feels relatable in their own way. Whether you're Muslim and grew up navigating those experiences, or you've never lived them yourself, this film gives you a window into the lives and struggles of others with empathy and honesty. It's nostalgic, beautifully written, and a reminder that the best stories don't need to be loud to leave a lasting impact. Imran Khan has created something truly special. See more Kristopher F @RT73234743 1d There’s something wonderful about a film that curates not only a casually beautiful nostalgia of the 90’s, but also the open and visceral challenges of adolescence through the lens of honesty and comedy. It doesn’t happen often, this kind of film, but it has happened with Mustache. The film will have you laughing and likely remembering how this all to familiar time in life has it’s own pressures, decisions, and realizations that feel like they are everything; and become the core memories you take with you. The Direction and Performances are so true, and voiced that they (I think), are timeless. I love this film. I had the pleasure of being the Prop Master for Imran’s Film and it’s only fitting to admit that I both genuinely laugh and cry every time I’ve watched it, and I hope you will too. Set in the mid-'90s Pakistani-American community, it follows Ilyas as he's thrown from a sheltered Islamic school into the social chaos of public school, forced to reconcile his family's expectations with his own awkward, unfolding sense of self. It's funny and specific rather than sappy, and it finds real feeling in the small, universal indignities of adolescence.
