Critics Consensus

Easygoing but lazy, Ocean's Eleven blithely coasts on the well-established rapport of the Rat Pack royalty.

The picture is very plush... so much a display of performers who act as if a mere appearance would induce hysteria in the adoring public, that you wonder who's fooling whom. Go to Full Review Kevin Maher The Times (UK) May 4, 2018

It's directed in glossy Panavision by veteran Lewis Milestone, who keeps a tight lid on the Rat Pack's antics. The ending, if rather derivative, is still utterly brilliant. Go to Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy May 5, 2024

A barely functional heist tale that served mainly as an opportunity for Frank and friends to party at Warner Bros.’s expense. Go to Full Review Allan Morrison Jet Magazine Jan 16, 2024
Some of it is funny, but the whole piece never knits together into a believable whole because it is based on a terribly contrived screenplay and because Dir. Milestone obviously couldn’t decide whether to play it straight or satirical. Go to Full Review Read all reviews

I was so happy to see it in theaters, I have them all on DVD at home. Really something magical.
