Ojuju overcomes its technical limitations with well-drawn characters and pungently compelling situations. It certainly indicates that its talented filmmaker ... is eminently capable of moving on to bigger and better things. Go to Full Review

Ojuju is a promising debut for writer-director C.J. "Fiery" Obasi. Go to Full Review
Deirdre Crimmins Film Thrills 08/21/2018
I was not expecting this film to be a masterpiece, but the extended toilet jokes, the unnecessary sex scenes, and the fact that the camera work and acting were painfully amateur made me realize that the filmmakers were not trying to make [one]. Go to Full Review

The filmmaking and especially the editing are messy and inelegant, but there's a lot of beauty to be found in OJUJU, and a lot of charm, too. Go to Full Review

Eric W 5d The most undeserved high RT rating I've ever seen. Some very talented first time directorial debut, low budget films manage to hit home runs and launch careers but this is not one of them. I welcome foreign films, especially from places like Africa, where we don't get much but this was a ham fisted bust. The first half is devoted to portrayting Nigerian slum denizens as relentlessly promiscuous. When they're not talking about or hitting on each other about sex, they are smoking pot. None of the main characters seem to do anything to earn money. None are appealing. The zombie scenes, when they come, are completely amateurish and are not scary. More laughable than scary. Skip it.
