Dale C @RT22141469 3 days ago This movie hit the spot at a time when there were a lot of duds masquerading as masterpieces. You know and maybe I have no short term memory but then we all go a little missing hey. Excellent performances and memorable in the feeling you get from watching an entertaining film. See more Yash B @yashbansal Feb 22, 2026 "Orange County" is a coming-of-age movie from 2002 and very much feels like it's from that era. The vibe of the movie is just nostalgic, and the story is easy to like. There is a simple conflict presented in the movie, and the movie flows decently well for its run time. There is a good amount of humor, and I liked how the story centered on a character who is a creative guy and an aspiring writer. I do feel the resolution of the movie felt a bit forced, and I think it should have ended differently to be more satisfying, but what is presented is safe and likable enough. Overall, it is a light and fun coming-of-age comedy that genre fans should have fun with. See more Mitch B @RT97279008 Jul 10, 2025 I his movie. It's a great coming of age story. Smart and funny and I feel I could have related to this character, were I sitll teenager and in fact, as a writer, I still can. See more Kevin P @RT55971421 Jan 26, 2025 Not gonna lie, this almost feels like a parody of cliché raunchy dudebro comedies and California surfer bro culture of the early 2000’s. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it feels like they play the most frustrating tropes of the era straight, like the forced 2nd act breakup, the main character getting shamed for being justly pissed off at everyone who caused all the conflict to start with cause “family over everything”, and the main character rejecting his great opportunity that he fought so hard to get the entire movie just cause “what he thought was special he had all along” cliché. That being said, the casting is solid and the humor was pretty decent, albeit a bit hit-or-miss. Not exactly a great movie, but certainly an entertaining time capsule of the early 2000's surfer bro and raunchy comedy cultures of the era. We all have friends and family in our lives that are just a bit dysfunctional. This is a story about. A young man finding who he is in a much funnier enjoyable way than anything you can read in catcher in the rye.
