Fifteen years on and "Predator" still impresses, both in tension and, perhaps more surprisingly, in its special effects.

“Predator” is a slightly above-average actioner that tries to compensate for tissue-thin-plot with ever-more-grisly death sequences and impressive special effects.

A typical Hollywood hybrid of previously successful movies, Predator preys on its predecessors mercilessly. Since there's only one real enemy, the picture can't simulate the pyrotechnic massacres that Rambo serves up.

By telling a simple story in an incredibly effective and energetic manner, Predator manages to become one of the very best action films of its decade.

There is as stiff dose of senseless violence, but fans of the genre will love it.

A devilishly entertaining action movie, which keeps me on the edge of my seat with each of the jungle sequences that, at a breakneck pace, prove that Arnold Schwarzenegger is the ultimate action hero of the 80s. [Full review in Spanish]

I love all the action scenes, especially the fight with Dutch and the Predator.

Sensational horror-action movie. When I was a boy I had a guidebook to horror movies, and the author despised Predator, mainly on account of its poor dialogue. Talk about missing the point! The claustrophobic setting, danger around every tree; the stifling heat; the sudden horror at the realisation that the elite - ELITE! - SAS team is being hunted by a mysterious and superior warrior, a hazard no-one could have predicted: Predator is awesome! I love the way the music drops away for the symphony of guns, when Mac unleashes Blane's minigun and the others join him. Bit like p*rn, you could say, haha. Schwarzenegger's transition from foreign-accented baddie to brawny hero. I expect this was the most successful action adventure movie made in Mexico since David Lynch's Dune debacle.

8.9/10. Classic great action movie, very cool for the time. Some silly scenes with senseless shooting though. Great acting and writing. Really entertaining.
