Blu B Jan 13 A Deep Cut Walt Disney Classic. In an era of Masterpieces from the studio this often gets lost or barely ever meantioned outside of people who grew up with it. And a lot don't even know this is a sequel. It's probably one of the earliest examples of a sequel that is in my opinion SLIGHTLY better than the original just on better execution. The highlights are the voice acting & animation which is really good. It's much more polished, faster paced, sweeping, and memorable. It's noticeably less dark and gritty than the first as well. Scott is really good as the villain and so is Candy as the comedic relief. The kid is alright honestly and probably the most forgettable thing despite being the main focus. Some scenes look absolutely beautifully done in this and far surpass the animation style of the original. It truly stands at times right up there with the best of the era. Some characters like the Crocadile Dundee Mouse and the kid are forgettable. See more Kevin P Dec 19 A very exciting Disney action and adventure with an incredibly large scope. It's a huge improvement over the original with better animation, a better villain, better humor, and an all-around better experience. The poacher villain McLeach is awesome. George c Scott voices him with so much enthusiasm and personality, while also being a credible threat. His pet monitor lizard Joanna is very expressive and funny. John Candy is funny and passionate as always, this time voicing the albatross friend Wilbur. The movie takes full advantage of its bigger budget and Australian setting. The opening flight sequence with the golden eagle is a visual spectacle on such a grand scale. Truly breathtaking. The background art is amazing and gorgeous to watch. The main kid is okay. The proposal misunderstanding gag is amusing, albeit a bit cliche. The climax in the river of crocodiles was exciting, even if the ending was a bit abrupt. The story is more interesting (to me), it has good humour, I like the villain, and, what I think the best aspect is, the animation. I love all of the settings, and I think it's visually appealing.
