Matthew D @OceanSage 2 days ago Paul Rudd, Seann William Scott, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, & Elizabeth Banks are hilarious! Wet Hot American Summer director David Wain’s comedy Role Models (2008) is a laugh riot. I had forgotten all about this movie, then after revisiting the hysterical Wain film Wet Hot American Summer, I just had to give Role Models another chance. I recalled this movie being amusing, but it is outrageous! I was constantly laughing. I did remember the larping fights in the park with everyone in medieval outfits. It’s such a funny comedy. David Wain’s direction is very playful and crazy. He lets Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott go off the rails and deliver brilliant line after line. I appreciate Wain giving Role Models a nice life affirming message for adults and positive outlook for kids alike. Paul Rudd is very funny as the miserable misanthrope Danny. Rudd’s dry delivery is hilarious to me. Seann William Scott is simply hysterical as the outrageously horny Anson Wheeler See more Robert P @Superbad 5 days ago Role Models = a *4* star Movie! See more Madie R @MRoss94 Sep 1, 2026 Most importantly, the movie understands that being a role model doesn't mean being perfect. Danny and Wheeler are disasters, but they ultimately learn that simply showing up for someone can make a difference. "Yeah. "Large" is large. In fact, "tall" is large, and "grande" is Spanish for large. "Venti" is the only one that doesn't mean large. It's also the only one that's Italian. Congratulations! You're stupid in three languages." Verdict: Crude, ridiculous, and surprisingly wholesome. Role Models is much smarter and sweeter than it initially appears, with a great cast and enough genuine heart to make the immature humor worth enduring. Never has a dull moment. Characters you care for. Numerous quotable lines. It won't land with everyone, as comedy is highly subjective, but if you like this flavor of humor, this is one of the best films in that vein. I think Paul is a really good actor in a serious films since he brings humor to that. Don't get me wrong, I think he is a funny actor, but I guess Antman has had me make a very vague conclusion to the guy. As I said earlier, the concept behind the movie was really good. I wouldn't change a thing on this film. I liked it See more Read all reviews
