I remain struck by both the simplicity and tenderness of the narrative that is haunted by a deep tragedy. Go to Full Review Kristen Yoonsoo Kim Complex Feb 27, 2017

Room takes a nightmarish premise in an impossibly contained set and turns it into one of this year's most emotionally poignant films. Go to Full Review Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com Aug 22, 2016

Room is a lithe, deeply moving wonder that builds to a miraculous coda. Go to Full Review Christos Tsiolkas The Saturday Paper Aug 19, 2026
The real question to ask is why a film so inept and false as Room has been garnering such positive critical attention. The same might be asked of the acclaim for Brie Larson’s one-note and priggish performance. Go to Full Review Don Shanahan Every Movie Has a Lesson Jul 28, 2025

B P @Bradster69 Sep 12, 2026 Definitely Recommend It See more Brittany E @brittsnotboring Aug 21, 2026 this was one of my mom and I’s favorite movies so it gets infinite points for that. See more Keith B @Okbullard Jul 29, 2026 It was pretty good but tended to drag especially the last third. Brie Larson was okay but Academy Award? She was exceptional when Jack left and she was freaking out but other than that I could think of at least 50 actresses that could easily do as well or better. Watch it if there's nothing else on. 93% hmmm... See more Branden M. @Manden717 Jun 6, 2026 Devastating and disturbing, yet profoundly hopeful, Room’s horrific circumstances are only equaled by the tender innocence of its young lead, gripping performances, and subjective direction. I felt every bit of this haunting, intimate story, the outrage, tragedy, and love, culminating in a beautifully subtle, hope-filled catharsis. An amazing movie! See more Darja S @darjasuri May 13, 2026 A horrifying story told through a child's eyes, which makes it so much worse. A film about hope and fight in the most terrifying circumstances, about love and resilience, about what it means to rebuild a life after surviving the unthinkable. Brie Larson is extraordinary. Strong and deeply unsettling in equal measure! See more Timothy L @timleo35 May 1, 2026 This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. Extremely well done. Brie Larson does a great job but the best part is the story telling. It was essentially done in two parts, and each part was extremely captivating. See more Read all reviews
