Critics Consensus

Saw II is likely to please the gore-happy fans of the original, though it may be too gruesome for those not familiar with first film's premise.

The original provided some genuinely creepy moments despite an increasingly absurd story line; the equally silly sequel defuses much of its tension...

If you've bought into the Saw movies, II ups the violence without totally jumping the shark, and is a worthy follow-up to the original.

Saw II manages to keep the contained thrilling vibe of the first one, stick to jigsaw’s skewed rules of the game, and still present a rather surprising finale, following a film with one of the most memorable twists ever.

This is one of the strongest sequels of any franchise. The reveals had us all gagged and they still feel electric upon rewatches.

The worst of the saw franchise and I think ita because I didn’t connect with this storyline and trap not nearly as much as the rest of the saw movies, still great but not as great as the rest.

Eu admiro muito o Jigsaw, na verdade. Ele simplesmente acorda todo dia e transforma tudo em problema de todo mundo.

Not too much better but somewhat better then the first, i love how there was more people locked up instead of 2 and the big plot twist at the end, made me drop my jaw. Great movie 9/10!
