Critics Consensus

The Collection offers more grisly thrills and twisted humor than its predecessor; in other words, fun for genre fans, but unpleasant for anyone else.

An exercise in pure sadism, The Collection moves at a clip that leaps over plot holes in its race to elicit fright. No weighty psychology or physical logic freights this enterprise. Go to Full Review Nicole Herrington New York Times Nov 30, 2012

I mean, we are taking about a killer that has killed hundreds of people. He killed hundreds all at the same time. Well, the cops sent 6 people, and no back up. Really? See more Caz M @RT67929565 Oct 22, 2025 I love everything about this franchise. While it does have plot holes and moments of “that would never happen”… you have to look at it as a good old popcorn horror movie. You do get pulled in with the Collector and then the Collection we are just waiting for the 3rd movie in the trilogy to finish the story. I’m not surprised it has a cult following.
